Ha, recalling stupid conversations we had in the military about strong coffee, if you don't have hair on your chest, it will put it on, if do, it will take it off. But we were bored waiting talking about coffee. So are the people on this thread bored too? LOL, better get back to work.

Wyoming Rules About Coffee (from my experience):

1) "It don't need as much water as you think it do."

2) coffee should have viscosity.

Well I used to drink that freeze-dried Nescafe $hit in the UK. No way I'd touch that now...

After you've had espresso its hard to go back...

But do people really want espresso every morning to start their day? WOW

Why not?

Sure - why not?

I dunno... seems a big jolt to the system.. lol I guess that's the point. I've just never been someone to need a jolt in the morning. I do like grinding the beans for hubster every morning though... LOVE the aroma.

Hubster has one of those stove-top espresso makers that he bought when we were in Milan. He used it a couple of times, and liked it, but now it sits in the cabinet. lol

Well if you drink enough espresso it can cause abnormal heart rhythm (but you'd have to drink about 10 shots a day for that to happen). The regular size lattes in Starbucks have two and thats usually enough for me.

As I said - I was a bit disturbed by the guy who asked for the 8 espresso shots in a single cup. That's the coffee equivalent of smoking Marlboro reds.

Espresso, surprisingly enough, has less caffeine than coffee. (a shot of espresso compared to a cup of coffee, that is)

Considering that when I drink coffee, I drink the entire 12-cup pot, I don't understand this "jolt" from one espresso concept. What's that all about?

:P

Tell me about it - I'm on cup #4 for today (and by cup I mean 16 oz. travel mug).

Because you can only be 'cool' if you drink espresso from a tiny little cup. My theory is that 85% of the people who drink espresso really don't like it that much. But it's considered trendy and upper-class to pretend that you've been to Italy and are a true connoisseur of fine coffee. You could put coffee from White Castle in the cup and most people wouldn't even notice.

Its got a stronger flavour.

Did you REALLY just say "It's got"?

I don't know about the coffee from White Castle - but have you tried the iced-tea?

Drink that if you want diabetes...

Did you REALLY just say "It's got"?

Yup

Now there's a nice honest answer...

It's always funny to see a big man drinking out of a wee cup that looks like it should be part of a little girl's tea party set.

Well that's really a shame if that's true. I have a hard time believing it, however, since espresso is so awesome.

No, you're awesome. And it's all thanks to espresso. LOL!

"It's got" is improper English. Say it un-contracted. "It has got a stronger flavour."

Correct is: "It has a stronger flavour."

There was a thread on here a while back about bottled water - and a documentary on youtube where it was demonstrated that marketing had a lot to do with a person's experience of consuming it. Simply by putting tap water into differently designed bottles people were able to perceive differences in taste.

Well, I can't argue with you regarding my awesomeness!

Maybe incorrect, but completely common usage, no? Surely Mr. Daniels is just like the rest of us!

I don't doubt it. But there's a huge difference between American coffee and espresso!

Unfortunately, bottled water is more of a necessity here. The water treatment plant here in town puts out super-chlorinated "water" that smells like bleach. Ergo, we buy the 2.5 gallon jugs of water for drinking. We have a Brita pitcher also, but only use it for the cats.

If I buy a bottle of water, it's for convenience. It's difficult to get water from the bathroom at a gas station and carry it with you in your cupped hands. :P
