Hi guys! This is just an ice breaker from all those visa questions in this forum. Once in a while, in the middle of nowhere, some weird questions arise like this one.

Some of you guys may have been to Nazarene shrine in Quiapo Manila. Quiapo day is Friday where the church is filled with devotees and where the "manghuhulas" are everywhere outside the church. The college where I went to was near the Quiapo church and I used to drop by the church before I go to class in the evening. Well, one of my classmates love to seek out these manghuhulas in Quiapo. She is a court stenographer at the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC). She likes going to the Quiapo church like me.

One Saturday morning, we were dismissed early in class and so, while we were waiting for our next class, she asked me if I wanted to go with her to the manghuhula in Quiapo and if I want I can consult the manghuhula too if I want to know about my future. I told her thanks but no thanks because I am a bit uncomfortable asking someone to tell me about the future. I had apprehensions about this kind of thing during that time , but then I told her that I would love to go with her to the manghuhula. I guess I was also curious about what this manghuhula has got to say about her. When we reached the place, she can't decide which one of them to choose. Finally, she picked out to a skinny middle aged woman who was waving her right hand trying to catch our attention. There was only a small table and a an empty chair for my friend and I was standing behind her. After she shuffled the cards, the manghuhula started reading them. Finally, she started shaking her head while looking at my friend. She started to say, , " You better straighten our your life and break up with that cop you are dating. He is married and his wife is going to have a baby."

My friend was speechless for a few seconds while I stood there in disbelief that my friend is seeing a guy who is married. I guess the manghuhula was right because later when when we were in class, my friend finally spilled the beans to me. She told me that her boyfriend is married and that she wanted to break up with him, but then the guy doesn't want to call it quits. She told me the manghuhula was right about her boyfriend. She just wanted to know if they will end up together. But the manghuhula said no and that she will marry a different guy.

I guess the manghuhula was right because my friend ended up marrying another guy who is single. I wasn't there when they got married, but then I know that they are now happily married.

I have another friend who is a "pulis". She was also my classmate at the college. One time, she asked me to go with her to Quiapo because she wants to ask the manghuhula about her future. We went to a different manghuhula this time. I know she is married and I know that she and her husband are having problems. The manghuhula got a hint of her situation. She told her that her husband was cheating on her and that she better talk to him and decide for themselves if they want to save the marriage or "maghiwalay na lang". I guess the manghuhula was right again because my friend and her husband are now separated.

I got curious too and after going to the Quiapo church, I decided to go to the manghuhula. After we agreed on the price, she asked me to shuffle the cards. The manghuhula was smiling at me. She said she tried several times shuffling the cards again but she always pick up the same card. I don't know if it's fate or coincidence, but she told me that I am going to marry a guy who has a different skin color. An alien she said. During that time, I broke up with my boyfriend for some reasons and one of them was that he and my best friend ended up together. My ex-boyfriend was American. I told her that me and my American boyfriend already called it quits. She said I am going to meet a guy who is from another country. She said I should come back as after I meet my future husband.

I guess the manghuhula was right again huh! Was it fate or was it just a coincidence? I haven't been to Quiapo for more thant a year now. But I still remember her face. Maybe someday we get to meet again and by then I will have the chance to tell her that she was right.

I would love to hear about your experience with the manghuhula.

Albeit I’ve never been to that manghuhula in Quiapo, I’ve seen a fortuneteller several times before. The last time I saw one was about a year ago. After dealing the tarot cards, the soothsayer reminded me that I had two sisters in America, which was true, and one of them would encounter some bad luck. She did not elaborate on what the bad luck was but she did say that it was going to be a blessing in disguise as far as I was concerned.

Sadly, the fortuneteller’s prediction came true as one of my sisters in America died of complications from breast cancer earlier this year. Then, the oracle’s words became more credible when my sister’s widower and I started to display a mutual interest in each other. I was widowed myself, and getting hitched to someone close, to my brother in law at that, was something so sweet and poignant and something that my sister in heaven (que descanse en paz) would have approved and very proud of.

So, that’s the way it is. The fortuneteller’s words came to reality as I am now engaged to my ex- brother in law.

I went to Manghuhula in Quiapo last 2000, as my apartment was just a walking distance to Quiapo Church. Out of curiosity i went to one lady, shes a little bit old, I told myself shes somehow convincing, no costume, no manhuhula effect, unlike the other people sitting beside her. I sat down and let her read the card for me. To make the story short, she was first one who guess about my situation. I never did the talking.. After she made me chose the card she told me that me and my bf in the province will not really work out due to difficulties in Long Distance Relationship. But I will have the luck to go somewhere and will find my destiny who is older than me.. And all the other things she told me is true.. I am now married with my husband and have 7 years age gap. My father knows how to read cards as well, even the lines in the palm of the hand.. My father told me the same thing but never believed him as what I knew that time he does not like my boyfriend.

I guess there are some people who really have abilities.. I think I inherited some abilities from my father but I seldom used it. I can read people's energy and did a couple of assumption to my classmates wayback in college and all the things I have told them were true.

The bottom line is:

All I know is GOD knows everything, we should lift ourselves to GOD and he will show us the way.

i have a relative who sees visions. i cant really call her manghuhula coz literally it means hula or a guess. though she isnt a distant relative, were not that close because she lives in the province and im here in manila. it just happened that we had family reunion and there we met. it was surprising to hear that all she mentioned about me were true! its as if we lived in the same house! she even told me that ill be in US in less than 1 year! ans she even mentioned that i will really struggle abroad.. i believed it is still god's will that will prevail.. whatever happens to me, i know god has a purpose

destiny belongs to those who believe in their dreams and have the courage to really pursue it!

dont stop when you're tired, stop when you are done!

I guess you and your fiance are meant for each other. You see, the fortune teller was the one who gave you a hint or a sign I guess. It was up to you to figure it out. :wow:

Hey, bud, I'm the subject brother in law. I ain't no redneck because I'm a G.I., like your fiancee. Rednecks are okay people, though, as I have lived with them before in Tallahasse, Fla. and Euless, Texas.
