Hi,

I just want to ask for those who traveled abroad back to their home country as a green card holder with a new/renewed passport?

1) Do I have to bring many documents with me upon entering back to US? They say that I should be pro active and bring all documents such as taxes, employment paystub, recent documents showing permanent residency? I will be divorced from my husband this month November and I will transfer to another State and I'm planning to go back to my home country Philippines next year 2009.

2) My passport has been renewed so I have a new passport now do I have to have the USCIS stamped my passport or no need for them to stamped my passport since the new passport has nothing on it. Do I have to bring my old passport when I travel abroad?

3) What are your experiences when you traveled back to your home country and when you traveled back to US. What do the Immigration inspect? Are they strick? What are the documents do I have to bring with me when I enter back to US.

4) Can you please tell me in detailed about your experiences, about what to bring and what not to bring when traveling and entering back to US

Please Help!

[Hi,,just came back from the Philippines last month and all I have to bring with me upon entering back to the USA is my green card. Just be sure that you have your passport ammended before going out of the country.Ammended passport meaning you have to have your passport changed to your now married name to avoid conflict.

You dont need to take anything else other than your new/renewed passport and your greencard, if your passport is in your maiden name then also take a copy of your marriage certificate to link the names. You do not need tax documents, mortgage details or anything else like that.
