I already have two advanced parole documents, and I am in the process of getting a green card through marriage.

I just received the notice from USCIS that I have an interview for the permanent residence on Dec 4th.

I have already planned a trip to my homecountry from Dec 17th to January 3rd.

On the notice of interview, I found out that I need to bring my advanced parole documents back.

So I am concerned about whether I would be able to continue my trip or should postpone the trip?

Right after the interview, should I remain in the US to receive a green card ?

Good luck in the interview!! You should receive your green card by the 18th of Dec., so it may be best to postpone your trip by a few days.

The chances are if you are approved at the interview you will get your greencard in time, but to make sure you do not have any issues take evidence of your planed trip ie. your tickets with you to the interview and if you are approved ask the interviewing officer to stamp your passport with the I-551 (temp greencard) to allow you to travel.

If for some reason you are not approved at the interview you will still be able to use your AP to travel as they only take it from you if you are approved.

Have a good trip home.
