Hey. My fiance just got her K1 visa. Now we are about to buy our plane tickets.

Can we enter through any port, even smaller airports like minneapolis, detroit, etc... or do we need to go in through any major airport.

Secondly, is there anything special we need to do becides bring her xray and passport+visa to get her in the country, or is it possible they will detain her and ask her more questions?

Thanks, hope someone can answer tonight so we can get this ticket asap!

Congratulations!

She will also need the envelope marked 'DO NOT OPEN' (commonly referred to as the mysterious brown envelope) that should have been given to her along with her visa. This contains paperwork that will be forwarded to your local office.

Any US Port of Entry will do...

You can enter at any POE.

Detroit takes direct flights from overseas so is a POE.

I have flown in to Detroit from Tokyo a few years ago on NWA, Detroit is an INTERNATIONAL airport.

awesome!

By the way, is 2 hours enough layover time from port of entry to our connecting flight in usa to go through the whole customs and border control process?

Detroit tends to be fairly easy entry, 2 hours layover tends to be fine, but try for 3 hours just in case your international flight gets delayed for any reason.

Alright, one more thing. We bought a round trip ticket instead of a one way, because its cheaper... will that matter to the officers at the point of entry for her visa?

RT is fine. In our case one way was cheaper, and again fine, K-1 has immigrant intent and a return trip ticket is NOT a requirement.
