I've gotten an attacker into my hard drive which i cant seem to get out. It is a false antivirus called startedwebsite, backslash security. Norton antivirus couldnt get rid of it as its too deep within my hard drive. It seems to be tied to trojan called Zlob. I think I'm going to have to have someone else work on this for me. I can still use the computer with norton blocking further attacks, but my times are slooooow, and my homepage keeps resetting to the startedwebsite. Can anybody help me?

Hmmm....

Tell me what windows you have.

What you can do is at the RUN ----> type = "msconfig" -----> remove startup processes such as application programs that you're unaware of

Do a thorough scan of your computer by using full scan within the antivirus software.

Well, I do need a little more than what you have. However, my services is no garuntee it'll fix your machine.

Try Spyhunter or manual removal after backup.

If you have trouble deleting infected files you may need to reboot into safe mode.

No, I dont have a dvr, or anything else like that, just the computer and monitor, along with a speaker, mouse, printer and webcam.

I have windows xp

I've tried the spyhunter directions, but it still wont go away, and within a few minutes has redone everything i remove.

I had the same problem. Go to spybot.com and download the free software. Run it and it should remove your trojan! Keep it installed and it will get all of the trojan infections as you surf.

HAL 9000 believes you may need to wipe clean as much of the HD as possible after backing up files and independently scanning them on a system that has updated antivirals and antispybots.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Try this... (there is downloadable removal tool)

http://www.removeonline.com/remove-started...l-instructions/

Startedwebsite.com/security/xp/ is a hijacker that is installed by a trojan. It infects the user’s computer then displays warning messages in an attempt to force the user into purchasing one of several rogue antispyware / antivirus products such as Window Antivirus 2008 or Ultimate Antivirus. It will also download additional computer parasites for maximum destructions.

“Warning! W32.Myzor.FK@yf is a virus that infects files with .exe extensions. It attempts to steal passwords and private information from the infected computer. If you are infected with this hijacker you will receive warnings in your task bar stating that you are infected with spyware and to run its special anti-spyware tool.”

Risk Level : Very High ( Dangerous )

Note :- To safely & quickly detect Startedwebsite.com, We highly recommend you to use the Removal Tool for Startedwebsite.com Hijacker.
