If i wanted to visit England for a few days once i have the greencard in my hand, how do i go about it, and will i have no problems at all getting back into the US?

Will i show my British passport to check out, or show the green card too?

And on arrival to England, just the passport?

You simply travel as you normally would - as a British Citizen using your passport. The GC should be presented upon reentry (along with passport of course). That's it - pretty uneventful actually - almost an anti-climactic disappointment.

That is correct.

Note: There's never a guarantee of US Entry - but the GC is certainly a valid reason to let you in. Assume the best since that's almost always what happens.

It won't be a problem. You won't need to show your GC until you return into the US. Immigration (DHS) will need to see it to allow you re-entry.

For example, at JFK there are two lines. One is for citizens and the other is for everybody else. I believe you still need to go to the "everybody else" line. Does anybody else know for sure?

I saw at Newark it was US Citizens & Legal Permanant Residents, and then a line for other.

You are still a British citizen... nothing has changed... you will arrive as you always have, subjecting yourself to the same entry procedure as any British citizen.
