Affidavit of Support- Bank account that important?

[b]In the affidavit of support, how important is having bank account esp in the event that he has no assests (except mortgage house) ?? He had been divorced and his ex wrote bad checks during their time so that since after the divorce (3 yrs ago) he hasnt use any banks. He uses cash and pre-paid credit cards. He has enough to support me and his family for he has a good job and been in the same company for going 3 yrs now. Can the income statement from his employer will be enough as evidence of support?

BTW,we arent close to petition approval as we are yet to file this month but we have been reading a lot esp here in visajourney and we wanted to see and solve whatever problems that may complicate the process, the earlier the better.

Adequate income is all that is needed. He should provide most recent tax return and letter from employee stating how long he has been employed and his annual income (my employer letter was notarized, but I don't think this is a requirement, just something my employer does for gov't requests).

He doesn't have to have assets.

Thank you DEDixon! He has his income tax return intact and he can get his employers statement re employment so that should be good for now. whew! for a moment we panicked but thats just icing in the cake but at least.......just to hear peoples view and may be actual experienc/s will help ease things as we go through the process.

n my case i didn't submit bank statement. income tax return, employment certificate with earning indicated and his pay check will support ur fiance affidavit of support. Goodluck

wow another positive response! ....so far the bank statement isnt that important. i hope it remains coz it will be months b4 we get to submit such documents anyway thank u so much!!
