Will I have problems at POE?

I was in the US in 2006 and me and my wife got married there. I came back home to Bangkok and I tried applying a visa again after a few months. I didn't mention that I was married at the time since a lot of people were advising me then that if I do, they won't give me a visa. I was desperate to see my wife then, so I listened to them - bad decision. Anyway, my visa was denied anyway since I stayed 6 months in the states. they said its too soon to get a visa again.

In late 2006 I moved to Singapore and in 2007, I applied for a tourist visa again, this time I declared that I am married to a US PR. The consular officer asked me about my previous interview in Bangkok and I admitted that I lied to get a Visa. She said that I am not qualified to get a Visa and that I should just wait for my wife's petition.

Nov 2008 I had my interview. My wife is now a US Citizen. As I previously lied, we thought that I would need a waiver first for misrepresentation before I get a Visa.

During the interview, the consular officer asked me what I did in the US for 6 months back in 2006, and I replied that I was just with my fiancee/wife and then she proceeded to ask me about my Visa application in Bangkok. She asked me if that was all a lie, and I said yes because I wanted to get a Visa to see my wife again. I thought at this time that she's going to say that I'm ineligible to get a visa but to my surprise, she said that all our papers are complete and she's going to approve my visa.

My passport and Visa is with me now, just wondering if I will have any further problems because of that lie I made in 2006.

Thanks a lot.

david.

You told the CO about the lie and they had no problem approving your visa application. You shouldn't have any problem at your POE, I don't think anyone will even ask about that anymore. All the best

thanks for your reply. i do hope i won't have further problems.

You're lucky as Hell!

Good luck on your trip!

Yes, we're really really thankful for it. We honestly didn't expect that I'll get to be together in the US so soon. And we were even afraid that the waiver won't get approved at all. We were already beginning to make plans for her to move here to Singapore, but i guess God had other plans for us.

Yep, our fate is already in God's hands so I think you are pretty damn lucky and defied all causes and got this visa. Don't worry about POE if your visa was approved and issued by US embassy, then US POE will not give you any new things to deal with.

God bless,

Tam

AP: Over 1 year.

Visa: Nov 2

US Entry: Nov 13, Alhamdulillah.
