Seems that in this case 'honesty was the best policy' - after all, he can sleep at night :)

$182,000 would have bought a lot of sleeping pills.

And a nice vacation, a great car...etc etc. :P

Anything to help him sleep at night :P

"Reece testified in a deposition that she spent about $14,000 on a trip to Hawaii and had sold some of the rare late 1920s bills. She said about $60,000 was stolen from a shoe box in her closet but testified that she never reported the theft to police."

who thinks she's telling the truth about that?

she seems like a total moron, the guy should have kept it and not told her.

I don't see how he felt he had a claim to any of it since it was on her property...

Me neither. It was in her house. His discovering it does not confer on him a right of ownership.

How so? If I go into your house and steal something, and you don't find out about it, does that mean I have a right to what I stole?

no, but how am i going to know any better? as i said, she sounds like a moron who doesn't deserve the money so stealing from her is not a major moral issue.
