For those Canadians living in Atlanta, here is some information about celebrating Canada Day sent out by the Canadian Consulate. It is the Thursday before, but for those of us who are still making new acquaintances in our new homes, this is one good way to make connections with other Canadians. My husband and I are going, and if you are interested, the contact email is listed to reserve your free tickets.

Gee, I wonder if they will have Tim Horton's coffee?!

oh I miss peameal bacon - that would be wonderful! What they sell here as 'Canadian bacon" just isn't it!

Have fun in Toronto - they do a great Canada Day celebration.

Oh I know, I'm from Toronto, I've celebrated Canada Day there many many times! What I'm most looking forward to is Street Meat hot dogs, and some nice peameal bacon!

I ordered some from Real Canadian Bacon last year and ate it all up myself. My husband is very weird and doesn't like it. All the more for me! :D Its really expensive to have shipped tho, I can't really afford it :(

No, Montreal's Old Port just celebrates Canada Day with a free rock concert (3 years ago it was BLUE RODEO) and hosts the INTERNATIONAL FIREWORKS COMPETITION (and there just happens to be one of the competitors showing his stuff the night of July 1st). .

Oh and of course, the parade....and the birthday cake. :D

Something like half a million usually attend....lol. And everyone gets along famously!

Why don't you make the 6 hour drive from T.O. and join us?

I'll be at Zoo Atlanta...

Hey, Karen - we'll look for you to say hello:-) My husband is booking it as a holiday so he can join me at the celebrations:-). I've attended several things that have been hosted by the Consulate and they do a great job. We'll all have fun!

Old Montreal though is pretty darn terrific . . . enjoy yourselves!!
