Ok Say we got our Letter in the mail today telling us what we need to send in. We were asked to send in our most recent tax forms for the Affidavit of Support on Form I 864. That is all they wanted and all they are asking for. So once again I am sending these papers via fax to my attorney and having him send it to the US and Immigration Services. Does anyone know these guide lines ? What are they looking for when they ask for these papers ? When we recieved our K1 visa we had to show theses tax forms. I wonder why they would want them again ! How silly ! Any thoughts are greatly welcomed. God Bless Chuck and Teresa

Why they would want it? It's in the instructions.

AOS is a whole separate process from K1.

I did file the I 485 and the I 765 and for the AP but they put my case on hold. They want to see my most recent tax form, so I will send them again. I did include them in the packet I sent them ! I am just not sure why they want them again Any Thoughts ! Thanks Chuck and Teresa

Hi, I can't help to explain WHY they want them again, but I can assure you that the RFE is not as big of a deal as it seems. I had one, and had to respond through my attorney (it's a separate story, but I wish I DIY'ed instead of hiring him - too bad I discovered the VJ site too late, lol). Your attorney will probably prepare a response cover letter, and attach the tax transcripts/returns, and once the MSC receives it, you will see online that your case' processing resumed. It will move forward, don't worry. As you can see in my timeline, the RFE really didn't delay my EAD/AP. I think you will be fine as long as you file whatever they asked for. Sometimes they request for something that's already been submitted, and it's not unusual.

Good luck! :star:

Thanks for your response. This whole process is timing consuming and nerve racking. It is a shame that we do not treat people with any more respect than a piece of paper. Who would of thought. The up side is that I am blessed with a beautiful and lovely wife who I would jump through flames for. God Bless You Chuck and Teresa
