USCIS is not very particular about the photos but the Embassy will be for the ones you'll provide them later.

It is critically important that you and your fiance study the guides and the instructions that come with the forms. Many of your questions are answered there. Make the check to Dept. of Homeland Security.

Use 2 X 2 size picture photo. Philippines passport photo is smaller as compared to US passport photo.

Check pay to the order of U.S. Department of Homeland Security

Actually you should make the check payable to U S Department of Homeland Security - as always the devil is in the detail. :)

Good luck with your journey.

I'm sure it will be fine either way but from the I-129F instructions...

Pay by check or money order in the exact amount. Makethe check or money order payable to the Department of Homeland Security.

So, bite me.

Lifted directly from the USCIS site - actually from the instructions for form I-129F expires 01/31/2010 : "Make the check or money order payable to U.S Department of Homeland Security" - they themselves have bolded that part to make it stand out.

What is with the "bite me" remark? I am simply providing information as I understand it. I was under the impression you are a fierce advocat of attention to detail.

My two cents worth..... a have friends who are going through the K1. They had their photo's returned as they were not 2x2 US passport photos but Canadian size and the cheque was returned as well....... needed U.S. Department of Homeland Security, along with a signature on a form they forgot. Better safe then sorry. Good luck.

I am a stickler for detail and have also lifted my bolded quote from I-129F instructions, just a November 06 version of the instructions. Whether "US" is included or not is of no consequence. I also advised the OP and USC fiance(e) to study and follow the form's instructions.

Oh, Noooo.... The last thing we did last night before we mailed out our package is go to the USCIS website and make sure that the fee for filing K1 is $455. Then we made the check payable to "U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services," because it says on the website that "Fees should be made payable to Department of Homeland Security or U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services." We should have referred to the I-129F instruction again.... I hope that we are going to be okay....
