Now, to your question; As I remember it, it's Why do conservatives name call obama supporters, but Obam supporters don't name call NcCain supporters. I take pause, because I'm wondering why you notice a few terms leveled against liberals, but fail to see any against conservatives. How is this selective sight possible? You have repeatedly participated in Republican bashing threads, LIKE THIS ONE, where derisive comments about Republicans in general, and certain Republicans have been demeaned and called all kinds of names. How do you even expect me to take this question seriously when you have taken part in what you claim doesn't happen?

Obama spoke quite often in his book of those who had suffered from race far worse than he had. I don't think he tries to paint himself that way. In fact, I believe that was part of his struggle. He knew he was more privileged than many, yet still found himself occasionally painted (because of the color of his skin) as a stereotypical black man.

I'd venture to say many of VW's friends might have found themselves with a similar internal struggle.

Do you think Ayers and Bin Laden are comparable?

i'm tired of people complaining about ayers! he's a reputable professor and in the senior staff at a university. also, did he threaten the world?

That's the point though, the VW's of this world seem to be able to paint Ayers with the same kind of brush that they use for Bin Laden et al, when clearly, had he been even half as bad as they would like to paint him he would have been locked away and the key thrown away. The fact is this guy made some bad decisions when he was in his early 20's. Since then he has made seemingly excellent choices and proceeded to make a decent life not only for himself, but for his wife and family. For 30 years he has had no terrorist ambitions, not even some politicaly dubious ones and yet, somehow he's persona non grata and a freaky 'skeleton' in the Obama closet.

I don't know how painting Ayers with the same brush as Bin Laden makes someone a "VW". I haven't compared or contrasted the two in any way, so how did doing so become a characteristic of people like me?

Oh, please, you have clearly stated that in your opinion Ayers is a terrorist. Whether you consider Ayers in the same league as Bin Laden is rather irrelevant. What you believe is that the relationship between Ayers and Obama is highly dubious which can't be the case unless Ayers is a 'terrorist' as his only other noted achievement is being a college professor.
