Hi girls and guys,

Some of you may recall several months ago I posted about a friend of mine loosing his job while he was doing the visa process on his fiance and two young daughters in Russia.

At the present time he still hasn't been able to find a decent job in our area to be able to qualify for AOS when his fiance goes for her interview in Moscow.

Here's the deal two of my friends and I have put together for him and we need to know about some things concerning self-emplyment.

All three of us own exceptionally nice home woodworking shops, fully equipped with modern equipment and nothing going on in them for us but fun. He's an outstanding woodworker and was working in an architectual millwork shop running a cnc machine.

We're going to loan him our shops, we're going to help him ourselves when he needs us so he wouldn't have to pay someone. We're going to pay him $15.00 an hour for a 40 hour week for four to six months until he can get established and get back on his feet.

His w-2 form from his last job, and in the amount of time he worked there last year, he grossed a little over $26K.

Question is: How will him being self-employed for such a short time affect his AOS because she should be getting her interview by the end of the summer. We would sponsor him but we're all in the K-1 process also.

He's a great guy, smart, works hard and we have no doubts that his business will be successful.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Bruc

as long as he meets the requirements for sponsorship it shouldn't have a negative impact on the process.

he will need 3 years of income tax returns, paystubs, employer letter, bank letter ... these bits make up the full financial picture for the CO to review when his fiancee goes for her interview.

This area of the forum is getting a lot of attention right now, due to the new format, but you really should post your thread in the appropriate location. It's just creating more work for the mods right now to tend to moving topics.

Sorry, I thought it was going to the correct section...not this one,

Thank you...I doubt he could get an employer letter because he lost is job because of a political move on part of his employer...his employer terminated our friend and put one of his son's on the cnc. It was not a pretty move for the employer and has caused him some more problems now. His son is to stupid to run a .5 million dollar machine and it's causing him problems.
