CENTEREACH, NY (GroundReport) - According to police, a bank teller in Long Island, New York, asked the question "Are you serious?" to a would-be robber and the puzzled teller's question was sufficient to spook the female suspect. The suspect fled the Roslyn Savings Bank in Centereach late Thursday afternoon.

Police authorities revealed that she entered the bank inside a Centereach supermarket. She later gave the bank teller a note demanding cash. She also threatened to open fire if the teller didn't agree to her demands, reports The Associated Press.

This is when the teller asked if the suspect was "serious," expressing her crime-fighting incertitude. The woman left the bank without a dime, say police.

Incidentally, the same individual is also a suspect involving a robbery Tuesday at the Bank of Smithtown, which is also located in Centereach, reports AP.
