Infopass Question...

I have applied for my EAD and have had my biometrics done and am therefore now just waiting for it to be approved.

Do you think it is sensible to book an infopass appointment for when the 90 days is up just in case I dont get it by then or should I wait until the 90 days are up and then make an appointment.

Does anyone know if there is normally a wait list for appointments? Also, is there a way I can find out if my DO (Denver) does issue the interim EADs? I've read some peoples posts where they've gone to an infopass appointment only to be told we dont do those here!!!!!!! My DO is 4 1/2 hours away and it would suck really really bad to get all the way there and to be told no.

Thanks

Clarax.

I don't know any specifics about the Denver office and EAD's. But we made the infopass appointment prior to the 90 days for as soon as the 90 days were up, and my husband was successfully issued the interim EAD.

Good luck!

The one like, "90 days have passed since I submitted my I-765 and I still have not received my EAD"

I would make the appointment. Just cancel it if you don't need it.

choose this

"It has been more than 90 days since you filed an I-765 and you did not receive an Employment Authorization Card."

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Thanks.

I'll do that but hopefully it wont come to that.

This system is really frustrating. It all seems like "pot luck" whether you'll get the EAD in time or not, or if the DO will issue an interim or not. It doesnt make sense that some places do and other dont.

There should be clear rules/procedures that all immigration officers follow and not leave it up to them and if they are having a good day or not.

American Girl - I tried to make an apointment also and it wouldnt let me after June 16th either. We have different DO's too.

Rch99 - Does it not matter then if you choose a different option but go for something else? I thought maybe it helped them prepare or something?

Go ahead and make the appointment for the 91st day or shortly thereafter. You can always cancel if you do not need it. My husband had an appt in Dallas on the 91st day, they turned him down saying " you filed thru the National Center, you have to contact them" Well according to the info on the USCIS website, in several places it states if you dont have the decision..etc you can request the interim EAD, so today we had another appointment, and I brought print outs of 4 different places on the website where that is stated and this time we got the ead. So take print outs of that stuff and that will really help you. I have the whole story in another thread.

Ok, ignore that question. I just found your post on getting the interim. I'm glad it worked for you and its given me hope that it can be done. Good work on being firm and not giving in. I think they get away with not doing their jobs correctly way too much.
