Yes, if you need something, now is the time to buy it.

From a home, to clothes, to dishes, whatever...all on sale.

And on a personal note:

I hate Christmas.

And the number one reason I hate it is because of the consumeristic idea it has evolved into.

(most) People buy into it and it is so shallow.

For over a decade, friends and I agreed to no gifts and only celebrate by gathering and bringing food and drink and merry-making.

Gifts are "illegal".

Hahaha!

I prefer to celebrate the Solstice anyways...

I don't think I will be spending much this holiday season. Everyone I know is either being laid off or their employers are laying off. My employer laid off a bunch of people last week.

I know I speak idealistically.

Hee, hee.

If you walked a mile in my shoes and knew how I've lived my life (especially when my feet left the ground to live on water for almost a decade...basically off the "grid" so to speak) well, then you would too understand that there are many ways of living.

Most people are only exposed to one way....one way of being and buy that story.

Hence my (and my friend's) idea of the ("silly") term United State(s) of Being.

What we were trying to get at is just that: if you wanted to, you could live differently.

You do get to choose.

And I am not talking about simply uncluttering and cutting expenses.

Although that is a FANTASTIC start.

One day I will write a book...or two or three.

I just need to sit still for that....not ready yet.

Do you know what i mean when I say stuff like:

Yes they are. It's in their TV commercials. I remember when I worked as a stock boy in a chain called TG&Y, where I would take items to and from our layaway cage.
