I went to the National Statistics office(NSO),to request for the birth certificate of my 1.5 year old son.He was late registered.

The NSO personnel told me that 2007-2008 birth records are not yet at their system. What should I do?

I also need to apply for his passport, and Birth certificate is one of the requirements.

Birth certificate in NSO paper is also needed during the interview, can i submit only the birth certificate issued by the local civil registry?

I need your advices, on what to do.

Thank you

hm, this is kinda alarming.. But why don't you try to go to the Civil registrar in your place and ask if they can issue an advance endorsement to NSO just like with Marriage certificate.. I hope that works. But if you badly need the NSO BC of your son, this process that I'm suggesting takes 1 month to get the hardcopy of NSO BC of your son.

You can try this method, however I'm not sure it this works for Birth Certificate.

Goodluck. :)

I talked to the City Civil Registry this afternoon, and they told me that they already forwarded the Advance endorsement at NSO(Naga City),I made a phone call at Regional Office of NSO at Naga City, and the NSO personnel told me that they will again request for advance endorsement letter to NSO Manila.

My queston is this if i do not receive the BC in NSO paper on time for the visa interview, can the BC issued at Local Civil registy will be accepted?

oh, that I don't know Padyak... Cos you see, the USEM (removed?) DV so they are really looking for the NSO papers.

I'm afraid I can't answer your question. Hope other members can answer you...

my son was not late registered, but when i went to NSO to get his BC and our marriage contract for the first time i only received our MC and a negative result for my son's BC... he was already 14 months old at that time,

i was advised that i should go to the local registrar and electronically endorse it,, it took another 2 months for everything to get done...

i asked them why it happened , their reason was there are so many baby born in pinas everyday compare to marriages, they told me that their system cant keep up and also due to the incompetence of the people in the local civil registrar..

Do the passporting first. Normally it takes at leats 6 months to a year to get an NSO for a late-reg person. My mom went through the same thing.

Go to www.dfa.gov.ph They have the details of what other domuments you can bring for the passport. Usually when the mother has the passport, they won't give you grief. Do it the soonest possible time and just get an NSO certified BC when it's your son's turn for the visa.
