Does anyone know if there are still huge delays in processing K-1 visas? We filed our petition with the California Service Center. Is 6 months really still the average amount of time the processing takes?

Thank you for your help.

Everyone is different, but have you noticed there seems to be alot that are around the four month mark for the NOA2. Then you see some that are alot longer. Here's hoping!

I have noticed that the the NOA2 seems to come around the 4 month mark. I'm wondering if there is any connection or reason as to why some are getting sent so much later. :hehe:

It's so frustrating not to have a straightforward timeline as to when things will be done.

To calm down your frustration, the most straightforward timeline is the one here on VJ.

We filed over a year ago and are still waiting for NOA2.

CR1 visas take longer... she was asking about a K1

You're looking about a 4-5 month wait. It's pretty consistent, but no an exact science.

Removing Conditions

Sent package to VSC - 8/12/11

NOA1 - 8/16/11

Biometrics - 9/14/11

Thank you! I've just heard some horror stories and they make me nervous, but it's always exciting to hear the good news. So thank you for that!

We just got our NOA2 from VSC and it took just over 4 months only by a few days

That's awesome! Congratulations, when you get the NOA2, is that when you know if you are approved or denied?

When you get your NOA2 your petition has been approved, then you have to pass your medical as well as the interview at the Embassy. Some people have been denied at the interview stage at the Embassy for some reasons.

I guess just look at the NOA2 as being approved for the next step, half way done.

:hehe:
