Sent my Packet 3 last Wednesday and e mailed the embassy today for an update.. this was the response

We have no record of having received the forms to which you refer. However

there is a delay of 3-4 weeks between the date the forms are received by the

Embassy and the date in which they are processed and entered on to our

system. As soon as the Immigrant Visa Unit has received the forms and

completed any additional processing on your application you can anticipate

receiving an appointment date for an interview within 8 weeks

I'm hoping these timescales are inaccurate and I'll hear alot quicker!!

I think that most of us lot from the uk got the same email and then amazingly they send you the email saying that they have your documents after you email them again after a week of the first message.

I know they are slow at the moment. It has been two weeks since I sent my Packet 3 back and I will probably give it another couple of weeks before I start emailing them. I just want the Interview by the end of March and that way I dont have to think about the NOA2 reaching the end of its 4 month validity.

I got that same response too!

I'm glad its generic, means the timescale they give you might not be accurate (hopefully shorter).

No need to panic then, its a canned response to everyone.
