I received the NOV2 back in August. However, due to slow processing at the foreign consulate, my fiance just received her packet 3 a few days ago. Now, the NOV2 stated that it is valid from August of 2008 to December. Is this period still relevant now that the files have been forwarded to the consulate? Should I worry that it will probably expire before she is scheduled for an interview? I called USCIS and the lady I talked to had no idea what I was talking about. I remember reading somewhere about filing for extension in some cases. Does anyone know whether we fall into this category? Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

For Guangzhou you will be fine... they rarely make it in the 4 mos. time frame

This is a non-issue as the Consular officer will simply extend the validity as needed.

hi,

I came back from Gunagzhou two days ago, my fiance was denied and they did not look at our documents. My fiance said, It was a racist black lady with fingers missing make sure your fiance avoids her. She should ignor when they call her number and later can say I was in bathroom. My fiance said, she rejected before her everyone.

I did apply again today. I'm very angry and helpless, they just ask her two Questions and gave her white paper less than a minute.

Wishing you the best.

Ramin.

Sorry to hear about the white slip Ramin. I have heard about tales of a black lady with a bad attitude at GZ. I will ask my fiance to try to avoid her. I have also read your details through your profile page and will contact you directly. Hang in there.

NO, you can not try to avoid any interview officers. It is luck, because they will call your name at random depends on which officers finished first until everyone was interviewed.

You don't need to worry about it right now. GZ will never finished the case in 4 months (my approval valid date was from Feb to June, but my interview as last July 10).

What your fiancee will need to do is when she enter custom E.G in Detroit, she will wait for the line as visitors. The custom officer will checked her seal package, if they saw the date is over the date showed on the Approval Letter, she will be transferred to a special process line, they will handle her there.

So it will cause her to miss the flight connection of course, mostly i should say, not 100%. But you can catch the next flight without paying extra cost.
