In the past a post market rally could be counted on every time a new President was elected with exception of two instances.

The market tumble of nearly 10% in two days in the US is unprecedented in recent history and double digit declines worldwide is a vote of no confidence in an Obama presidency.

He's an unknown. Markets rallied on election day on the notion that McCain had a chance to win but post election declined, worldwide significantly.

Yes... the whole world is afraid of the black man.:lol:

(BTW you probably missed it but the Asian markets were actually UP yesterday AFTER

Obama's victory was announced. From the Financial Times:

Asia Pacific stock markets were volatile but rallied on Wednesday as investors broadly

welcomed Barack Obama’s victory in the US presidential election.

In Japan, the Nikkei 225 average ended on the day’s high with a gain of 4.5 per cent.

Hong Kong shares rose by 6.5 per cent in their first hour of trading. Singapore gained

as much as 5.7 per cent and South Korea’s maximum gain was 5.6 per cent.

hasn't the market been going down for awhile now...??

Yup, and Obama was leading quite significantly in the polls for the last month leading up to the election. Any impact his election would have had was already worked into the market in the weeks leading up to the election.

Probably the next event that would produce a measurable impact would be who he names as treasury secretary.

didn't kaydee make this thread yesterday too?

He'll probably make one tomorrow too if the sell-off continues.

Not sure how he's going to explain the next rally when it happens.

Obama will appoint a few Republicans to his cabinet. When the next rally happens, it will happen within +/- 10 days of that event and that will be the attribution.

Probably the next event that would produce a measurable impact would be who he names as treasury secretary.

There's word he might name NJ Governor Jon Corzine.

That would be a big mistake.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

It's typical. As history have shown, after the election the stock tend to take a dive. Kaydee, don't be a typical conservative. You know, the one that uses false information just to prove themselves, and saying Obama is a devil, racist, terrorist. You should know better. Make yourself believable.
