I will be applying for my US citizenship next month and would like to setup PO BOX for my N-400 communication with USCIS. I want to keep my home mail address for my other regular mail (Bills, pay check, insurance etc). I do not want to change my mail home address with USCIS for other applications. Is that possible?

From the form:

A. Home Address - Street Number and Name (Do not write a P.O. Box in this space.)

B. Care of Mailing Address - Street Number and Name (If different from home address)

http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/N-400.pdf

Use your HOME address for A, and put your PO BOX in address B.

A. Home address - Give the address where you now live. Do not put post office (P.O.) box numbers here.

B. Mailing address - If your mailing address is the same as your home address, write ''same.'' If your mailing address is different from your home address, write it in this part.

Thank you for your inputs; I will fill my time as soon as I submit my application on 12/2. Does that mean I do not have to change my mailing address with the post office and USCIS for my other communication?

Without specific knowledge of your situation, it's hard to answer your question. Have you moved? What is the reason for the P.O.Box in the first place?

My home mailbox is located inside the leasing office in the sub division I live in. the leasing office was burned last week. The fire is under investigation which could take long time to resolve. We have been asked to get our mail from the postal office directly. The leasing office stated this could take months to resolve. The post office close at 4:30 I leave work at 5:00. The only way I could get my mail is Saturday. saturday is fine with for other mail but it will not be fine with the N-400.

Well that makes sense.. so for the N-400 list your residence, then your P.O. Box for mailing address and you should not have to notify anyone since the postal service is holding your mail for pickup already.

Of course it is. I dunno why anyone would think differently.

You can put any mailing address you want on any app you send them.

FWIW, I for "residence address" I always make a note: NO MAILBOX! DO NOT SEND MAIL HERE!!!

I have no mail box for my house. Any mail sent to my street address gets stamped "no mail receptacle at address" and is returned to sender.

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.
