Thank you all for your responses!

Has anybody used DHL to India? How are they?

Any of the big three couriers should be fine (FedEx, DHL, UPS). I've noticed that DHL is the cheapest and FedEx the most expensive (at least going to my country). Canvass for rates.

I still say FED EX, but that is me. I had too much stuff get lost in USPS to and from India. :crying:

I did DHL once when shipping stuff other than DOCs. It got there in reasonable time. However, once the local FED EX in Jalandher ship delivered something once to my husband, the second time I sent something to him it got there a day earlier than expected!:thumbs:

I say pay the money and have piece of mind. FED EX is good when sending stuff from India too. They also have a wonderful tracking system.:thumbs:

Sorry, if I sound bias. :P

I did send Express mail International. May be they charge me wrong. Overall it was good for me.

Thankyou all for your responses.

WaitingForRakesh,

How long did it take your DHL package to reach India? Thanks.

I don't remember exactly. I shipped it from Iraq while I was deployed a year ago. I say it was about 1 week. He had to pick it up from Jalandher. They did not deliver it to his door. It was a printer and some glassware. He had to pay about $400 for the customs/taxes befoe he could pick it up. If your sending just DOCs you won't have to worry about that.

DHL should give you a tracking number and the estimated time it will be delivered.
