Hey guys I want to ask you a question, how long does it take to receive the first NOA when an AOS package has arrived

to the Chicago lockbock? I was on reading on vj wiki that an NOA may take a week. My wife called the USCIS hotline

and was told that it could take up to 30 days, is this true? My wife was telling me that they just say this so people wont

call repeatidly. I was just wondering when I have checked out other members timeline they received theirs so quick?

Yes it can take up to 30 days to get NOA1 letter in the mail.

Did you use a traceable method to send the package? Do you have confirmation of receipt? Did you use personal checks so that you can see that they were cashed?

Oh ok thanks for the confirmation on that and when you say traceable method do you mean when I sent the package,

if I was able to track my package? If that is what you mean then yes I do and a confirmation of receipt I do have that.

I didnt use personal checks, I used a cashiers check and have no clue if they have been cashed or not.

At least you know that USCIS has the package, I would check with the bank that issued the check and see if it has been cashed.

Traceable method = confirmation receipt.
