Hello.

I finally got my interview date!!!!! (13th June in london) - which is awesome.

My fiancee is still in college so she has no income. However her parents have filled in the I-134 and have fed -ex'd it to me.

I was wondering however if my fianceee has to fill out the form as well or if her parents can be my sole sponsor.

I have read posts with conflicting information so i'm confused.

Also I know for the status change you have to have the I-864 I think - does that need co-sponsoring?

Thanks again for the information everyone - this site is AWESOME :D:D:D

She should still fill one out since she's the person bringing you over. She would be your sponsor (even if she doesn't meet requirements) and they would be co-sponsors.

10/07/2006 WEDDING DAY!

11/14/2006 AOS packet made it to 'the box' after being overnighted.

12/02/2006 Paul had biometrics

12/14/2006 AOS Forwarded to CSC AND AP Application approved.

01/17/2007 First touch of 2007 at CSC

01/20/2007 Touched AGAIN (also the 18th) come on...

February: Oops, RFE for a REGISTERED marriage certificate. Oops! Overnighted it.

02/28/2007 Paul gets email letting us know his GREENCARD is on it's way! It's done...for now!

03/09/2007 Paul's greencard arrives. And breathe...

We began with mailing the I-129 in on February 27, 2006 so the whole process took us approx. one year.

Good luck out there!

staphros,

A while back a couple of K-visa applicants in the UK found that the only financial sponsorship information they needed to present was for the sponsor, who was not the petitioner. Translation to your situation - the parents' information was sufficient and nothing was needed from the fiance(e).

The anecdotal evidence is quite limited, however, so if it were me I'd have a financial package from my fiancee ready to hand in just in case it gets asked for.

Let us know how it works out for you.

For adjustment of status you are correct that your fiancee must be your sponsor and she must submit an I-864, even if her resources are insufficient. And if her resources are insufficient at that time a Joint Sponsor will be requied.
