NOA2 expired!

I am very new to the site, and extremely grateful to have found it! Was getting a major case of the blues with all the waiting!

My question is this:

My attorney said that the expiration (10/20/08) of the approval would be extended - but she did not say by whom! Do we need to file for an extension or will this be automatically handled by the London Embassey?

We recieved the 3rd pkt on July 3, 2008 - but didn't understand all that had to be returned immediately and lagged on getting everything back to them until mid August. I know this will delay (yuck) even more, but am hoping the interview letter will get to Steve this week or next. Any clues?
