If this is the case, California should not slow down because some of its workload (non-immigrant visas?) has moved to Nebraska.

This is super hopeful thinking and I can only pray that you are right.

Does anyone else feel incredibly angry that the US government is so screwed up? I know from personal experience that there is so much red tape in Mexico to get anything done that is government related. Getting a passport or drivers license there is about 100 times worse than here. So I've always felt very lucky about doing those things here instead of there. But after living through this situation, I just don't have one single kind thing to say about USCIS. I can't help but think that they must be the most screwed up US government department and that for sure if they were a private company they would have been out of business a long time ago with many many lawsuits. I'm gonna try hard to give this a rest for a few days because the stress is absolutely killing me.

Like others, I just got triplicate emails today from NSC stating my K-1 case has been transferred to CSC. I was on file at NSC 3-6-06 and was looking at an estimated 6-15-06 notification. Now, as I read it at CSC I've probably lost 2-3 more weeks at best, or (worst) does anyone know if the transfers are going to the bottom of the pile in California? Ouch.

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

We received NOA1 on 05/10/2006 and now is the same. Our petition was transferred to California as well. I would like to know what's going on. :(

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status:

On June 1, 2006, we transferred your I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) to

an office in CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER for processing. That office

has jurisdiction over the case. They will send you a written decision

as soon as processing is complete. You should receive a notice

informing you that your case has been transferred to a local office.

I got the same notice. Wonder how many they sent over. And looking at the time frame from NSC to CSC. I would think it will take a little longer being at the CSC.

Guess that is just the way it goes. :(

Just crossing my fingers and hoping it will move along faster. But most likely not.

It appears it is just partof the reorganization, though it is odd that Chuckles is left out!

If it gives anyone hope, I work for the Gov in Canada and when we get a backlog of applications that are sent to one regional office to clear, we put a "team" on it that only focuses on getting the backlog cleared. hey, maybe that will happen in this case for us.

And like someone already mentioned, it is likely that California is sending all of its petitions of something else to Nebraska, so the load should be balanced.

04/13/06 - I-129F mailed

04/18/06 - NOA1

08/30/06 - NOA2

09/26/06 - received at NVC

27/04/07 docs sent in for AOS, EAD, AP

26/06/07 - biometrics appointment

03/03/08 - Infopass - where the heck is my AOS interview?? No one knows!

I wouldnt be necessarily thinking that this is going to make the situation worse at CSC. If they are in fact restructuring it stands to reason that CSC are most likely also transferring other petition types to other service centers.

Its also not the first time that I-129F from NSC have been transferred to CSC in mass.

well, from things people are posting, it is clear thsi is not a new technique and has happened before. I guess we just have to wait. Wait for the new form, and wait and see how fast CSC can process them.

wait wait wait wait. I hope this is the kind of anxiety that leads to weight loss, and not the binge eating kind.

I have also noticed alot of petitions being sent to LOCAL offices

this happend to me but, for my I-130 petition. it was NOT good news at all.

Considering the backlog caused by USCIS not being ready for IMBRA........this may be the best thing that they did to alleviate the backlog and get things moving faster. Your I-130 shon was sent to a local office for very different reasons.

wait wait wait wait. I hope this is the kind of anxiety that leads to weight loss, and not the binge eating kind.

 I dont know about you.....but whenever there is an either for me its also the getting fatter one

It is my understanding that any restraining orders that have been issued only affect the marriage broker section of the act. The IMBRA is more then just MB. And many of these cases from what I have read that were filed by marriage brokers seemed to of been denied.
