My fiance and I have already picked out girl and boy names, I really liked Daylen for a girl and Bryson for a boy but we compomised,,,Even though we are not ready to have kids yet, these are thier names when we do.

Girl: Adrianna Kay (his name is Adrian and my middle name is Kay)

Boy: Trenton Ricardo (his middle name is Ricardo)

My name is Joanna and when I was born 31 years ago it was not very popular, but now a days I hear it a lot more.

My sister named her first daughter Annan Lain, it was mainly a fabricated name based on my mother's name and my mothers best friends name. Anna and Elaine, thus Annan Lain

My daughter's name is Alyxandria Rene, we call her Alyx.

I got Alyx from a novel I loved when I was 17 years old, she was born when I was 29 so I was hooked on the name for a long time. I myself grew up with what at that time had to be THE most common name on earth....so much so that out of an 8th grade class of 12 students 4 of us were Kathys. I wanted something a little less ordinary for her.

This is one of my favorite pics of her :)

I have a fairly unusual name and have always LOVED that. At first, no one can pronounce it, let alone remember it, but I don't care. I answer to anything close, until they figure it out.

My sister has an unusual name as well. Hers is Larissa, mine Danika. One of my best friends is Patience. Her parents went one step further and gave her and her sibling a middle initial only - letting them choose thier own middle name.

Other names I like

Katja

Indigo

Davin

My daughter's name is Savannah and my son's name is Ashley. We thought we were being all cool with the Southern Gone with the Wind approach, but having a boy's name as Ashley is just too confusing for people today. I even had my tax guy 10 years ago mis-edit our forms because of it.

I went to school with girls named Butterfly, Sunshine & Heaven... :) I like those names too!

I like the name Yasmine or Jasmine... not sure about boys right now...

Why, thank you

When my oldest sister was pregnant... she wanted to name the baby Stormie if it was a girl.... my mom said "You knowwwww... we have twins in our family!" So then my next oldest sister said... "Well what will you name the babies if you have twins? Thunder and Lightning?"

hehehehehehehehehehehehehe

That KILLS me! My sister has a sense of humor!!!

Lynne

I actually knew a pair of sisters named Stormie and Windie. I also knew a couple who named their 3 children Heaven (girl), Power (boy), and Treasure (girl).

I guess since my mother got an unprounounacble name, I was going to get one too. My mother's name, Aleta (uh-leet-uh) has been butchered since she was a kid, but I think it's a lovely-sounding name. I stopped arguing with people about how to pronounce or spell my name about 10 years ago. Athough to this day, the only person (other than my parents) who has pronounced my name correctly (gob-ree-el) on the very first try is my fiance (L)

For our children, Ahmed and I like mixing Arabic with American or family names. For girls we chose Violeta Safae and Aleta Mimouna (for my mother and his). For a boy we like Mehdi, but havent agreed on a middle name so far.

Friend of mine named her baby daugter Kerrigan. The baby's great-grandmother's maiden name was Anne Kerrigan. The baby is Kerrigan Anne. I thought Kerrigan was a pretty name, although I know some family members were skeptical.

After the Nancy Kerrigan scandal... I think the name has dropped in approval ratings
