I don't normally watch SP, but I will watch it, as I am sure it will be hilarious.

I hope that we get some really good satire from having Obama as president there are some really great areas to run with. Nothing wrong with satirising politicians, it's a good thing and no politician should be immune :)

For all that is good in this world, metta, give it a bloody rest. Seriously. The man hasn't even been sworn in yet. The American people have spoken. I'm sorry your gal wasn't the nominee, but we did get the Democratic Ticket elected, which means nearly the same platform Hillary was campaigning for. It looks like his chief of staff will be a former Clinton staff member. There's lots there for you to be satisfied with...if you could just get past your bitterness. Just think, what would Buddha do?

Hey I took part in VJ off topics because I do like to exchange thoughts on this election albeit in a small (relatively) discussion group. I've done that and my candidates lost. So, Obama will be our next president and I accept that fact the same way I accepted George Bush in 2000 and 2004. I am also going through the same emotions as then. well, there is a bright side to Obama's victory too. I am happy that we have reached another watershed in history as a nation. Setting aside the doubts about what Obama presidency will mean to many crucial issues that I/we all care about, I join my colleagues at work and several others in celebrating this historic moment. For many AA youth President Obama will certainly be a very very good role model that will hopefully demolish very harmful attitudes that equate excelling in academics as acting white etc.

That said, I am quite over it. I have a high pressure job and I do visit VJ from time to time just to distract myself and relax my mind. But this election has got me more distracted than I'd ever want to and the sophomoric tantrums i see from some on OT does'nt help either. Our visajourney is over and my wife already has a 10 year GC. At this point in time she has no intention of getting US citizenship so that's it for us.

Also, I have accepted an appointment in another state that also offered spousal appointment that is very hard to turn down. So next few months are going to be busy.

I will add, I think it's highly important to retain a sense of perspective, no matter who is in power. Satire in that sense is a very good thing. I look forward to watching that episode when I get home.

In other words - silence the opposition.

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.
