Do you guys think its too late for me and my fiance to get married and change our status to k3? Lately, we are having problems with the co-sponsorship in manila. We are about to schedule our interview pretty soon but we hearing a lot of problems regarding co-sponsorship. If we can still get married, how will i change our k1 case to k3 case? and are we too late? thanks

You can not change your case status like that. If you marry, you will have to cancel your K-1 all together and file either K-3 or CR-1.

Since you are so near to get an interview date, I would suggest to go ahead with the interview and give co-sponsorship papers, you will need joint sponsorship with all types of family visa, let it be K-1, K-3 or CR-1. If consulate rejects joint sponsorship (which I highly doubt) then look for a second plan, for now stick to K-1.

Best of luck

ETA: There was a case from Japan, it was on the news on Visajourney too, how the couple first applied for K-1 but because of wrong info given by US consulate in Japan, they got married in middle of the process and that beneficiary was actually banned for 10 years on allegations of misrepresentation. Anyways they did win the case but after going through a great deal of pain and suffering.

Your decision point was many months ago... It was too late to make this change the moment the petition was submitted to the USCIS.

YMMV

Just try your luck, who knows??? You received your NOA2 approval already, your almost near. Rather than to cancel your petition and start all over again. Just keep on praying and have faith. Good luck!!!
