More than one PM or FM of Canada has made issue of that.

At one point, Canada actually considered purchase of nuke-subs to deter this (and similar incursions by UK). The main bidders on the contract were:

• France (which claimed quietest design)
• UK (which actually pitched the very model which had intruded)

Didn't work out to sale (likely someone pointed out that they would most-likely have to go to one of the offenders--UK or US--for training, which would be akin to having fox guard chicken-coop, especially as they would probably develop counter-tactics for their own concurrent to training the Canucks)

russia has no intention of putting missles here....they have not done anything except put missles in a part of their country..

i am sure usa has missles in alaska...well, i know they use too.

I do want to add that the newspaper titled the article without completely thinking. They're invoking fear onto people. Russia isn't testing Obama. They needed another place for their missiles. As poor as Russians are, they cannot afford another war, especially with the US massive military budget.

Czar Vlad sees himself as entitled to all original Soviet Union--including Republic of Georgia, Baltic States, ...; the idea that his country cannot afford it is only a minor detail as are national borders (he had Alex Litvinenko bumped-off in London).

Oops, forgot--Vlad may see it more as taking back rightful property rather than "testing" a US President.

russia's economy is is disorder, surrnetluy but was doing well prior to the global economy collapse..they do not want war...they want to dominant with energy....pesp. in europe..

see their idea ..they are trying to link with iran..libya and other countruies to ahve a natural gas cartel..similar to opec
