I am sorry to hear about that trouble you've got in sending money to your mum. When I came here in the US, my hubby suggested that we will find a new remittance center that is reliable and fast. Usually he sends me money when I was in Singapore through Western Union. Although it is fast yet the service fee is way too high. Then a friend of mine told me about moneygram, I don't have any problem with them so far and as soon as I send the money, my mom would get it a few minutes right away in the Philippines. Now I am planning to switch to remithome.com which is more cheaper than moneygram itself. I hope that you MUM will receive it sooner.

Yeah it's not the same all the time though. Prior to that we sent my mum some money and the next morning it's already completed. I just don't know why this time it take so long.......

We used XOOM for almost 2 years now and never get into a situation like this. Hopefully it will be completed tomorrow. I called and e-mail them already. Hope to see the word "TRANSACTION COMPLETED" :)

When I called them...they explained that it goes thru Government clearance in the US.....maybe it is a line of BullS...

or maybe some Paranoid Joker that was auditing the transactions, wanted to make sure i was not sending to the MORO...

Personally...i think....they hang on to the money...for few days... some insiders can tell us what really goes on.

you know i just remember right now...maybe it goes thru goverment clearance because my mum lives in Mindanao and we sent a big amount of money. But I'm just wondering because before that day we sent some money and the next day it's already cleared.

I guess my hubby used his checking account. Anyway it's cleared now. :)

I'm sorry evelyn to hear this. Sometimes it does happen. That's the only problem I encountered with Xoom eversince my husband and I used Xoom. The problem with that is, Your bank probably had its clearing and Xoom hits it. So that's the problem. You just need to wait until Xoom can pull out money from your bank/credit card.

Hi,

I had same problem when I changed from credit card to ATM card, or banking account. Like you, I called and asked why is it taking so long. They explained it is US government regulation and not XOOM.

The next time I used XOOM, the money was ready in less than two hours. On rare occasion Cebuana Lhullier would not have enough money first thing in the morning, so she would have to wait.

It should b smooth sailing from now on.

I have used it three times in the past 2-3 mos. The FIRST time, it took about 5-6 business days, cleared from my checking. The second time, it cleared from my checking in LITERALLY about 20mins. I even called and confirmed this could be possible, since I didn't want my loved one wasting a trip to the bank on a false report of 'transaction complete'. The rep assured me that it was A-O/k, and it was. SAME for the third time, even though I DOUBLED the amount. IN FACT, it was ready for pick-up in the Phil BEFORE they dinged my account!

So far, I'm sticking with it.

Moving on w/life
