Since my husband didn't submit the i-693 with the AOS package, do you think maybe that is why they are making us have an interview?

All we did was submit a copy of his DS3025 with a letter saying that everything else should have been submitted by the doctor who did his K-1 medical in the sealed envelope and that we'd provide more information upon request.

That is one of the things listed on his interview letter, so I guess now we have to find a civil surgeon who won't charge us an arm and a leg for this and hope they also won't make him do a full medical exam over again. It is so frustrating having to call around to those people. Last time I called a bunch of the local CS offices, the majority of the people I spoke with on the phone were very rude to me and acted like I didnt know what I was talking about. So frustrating

looks like we are the lucky ones then lol

i guess i just have to focus on worrying about one thing at a time...first is figuring out how to file our taxes and THEN i can worry about the interview.

I don't think we will have any problems with it and at least I know it isnt sitting someplace on someone's desk or stuck in a corner somewhere, right?

You're right Sarah. One thing at a time.

Look at jhunjhun, got the EAD, got the SSN, in less than a week they filed for taxes electronically and sent the required documents back to the IO. You can do it too :)

I work well with lists of things to do. Crossing things you're done already is empowering.

11/17/08 : Application sent (I-130, I-131, I-485, I-765)

11/18/08 : Official receipt of documents stated on I-797C (Signature for receipt at USCIS was on 11/17/2008 at 10PM)

11/28/08 : NOA Received ( I-797C) for all 4 forms (forms issued on 11/26/2008)

12/18/2008: LUD on I-130, I-131, I-765

01/29/2009: Bio done

01/29, 30/2009: LUD on I485 and I765

2/10/2009: issued AP, valid 1 year for multiple entries.

2/23/2009: Got EAD card

3/8/2009: LUD on all applications. Shows approval of I131 and I765, still pending on I130, I485.

04/28/2009 at 9:30 AM: Interview. Told to wait 90 days for a resolution by mail.

05/01/2009: Card production ordered.

05/06/2009: Received approval NOAs for I130 and I485 (welcome notice, 10 years card). I130 still shows case received and pending.

06/18/2009: got the 10 years validity card. Process length: 213 days since sending the applications.

No RFE at all along the process.

We didn't submit the I-693; I wasn't actually aware of the form number until after things were sent in. I photocopied every page of his vaccination records.

Just what I thought. USCIS sent me the EAD in the mail. I got the plastic, issued on 02/18/09, I'll go for the SSN # tomorrow. Now I'll have to cancel the InfoPass.

No emails, no changes in the status, no nothing.

Congrats! Great to hear that from you! After you applied for your SSN, if you badly need it you can go there nxt day to ask for your SSN print out but make sure to call them and ask if your SSN is already assigned before going there.

"Have faith in God, Jesus answered. I'll tell you the truth. if anyone says to this mountain, Go, throw yourself to the sea, and that does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen. it will be done for him. Therefore I'll tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (MARK 11:22-24)

I'm really not complaining about not being notified, as long as they move the file, mine or other peoples. Better keep their noses in the files and get things done than messing around with that online notification (that so often was screwed in the last month or so) :)

jhunjhun, phoenixwife, thank you!

When you guys/gals filled the SSN application form, did you realy used ink? I'm wondering if a blue/black ballpen would be good for the job:) Anything else needed, other than the passport, the birth certificate, the EAD card? Should I take the NOAs with me?

Hi guys! I just got a letter on "initial interview" on April 7th. I can have all the documents needed for the interview ready with no problem, but my husband can't come with me on the said date. He is in Iraq right now, and can only come home if it's an emergency and can only leave the place on his scheduled R&R--which he will be coming home this May. I don't think he can make a leave on April in lieu on his May R&R. We have talked about this before, on what we can do if the interview falls before May. He said I can call the USCIS and tell them about the situation, and I should bring with me a document that tells he can't come to US unless it's an emergency ( I have to look for it though, it's somewhere here in the house  )on the interview date, since going in and out of Iraq is not as easy as coming from any country. He's coming from a U.S. base camp. He's a civilian worker, not military.

Can anyone shed some light, anyone have experienced interview without their wife/husband (USC) with them? I'm coming to the interview with my mother-in-law, I hope they would allow her in, we're coming together. And if they will ask for another interview, my husband and I can go the next month..

I am so stressing out :( Help, anyone?
