Thank you so much everyone. Its been a great day. We got home and drank a few mimosas :) Im so glad its over, finally its sinking in :)

Congratulations!!!! I'm very happy for you.....I was wondering, she didn't make us write our name or anything....do I need to worry? She handed out a whitte paper but it was for SSS and I told her that I already registered...I handed out a lot of documents and she just picked those randomly and I told her that " I'm sorry I just gave you a lot of them which they were from the same sources and she said you did good and I like what you did"...everything went good but she said that she can't approve us because my wife's income for 2007 was below the poverty line and she gave us a RFE about our 2008 income tax return...I told her that the only thing that we can do is to wait for my EAD card to arrive and apply for SSN. She told us that we can file our return electronically and once the return has been accepted by irs...we need to print out the copy and the confirmation email and she will approve us.

do you think it's better to take our tax return in person or tru mail? it's 20 minutes drive from where we live so it isn't that far.....

Hey man, I think you should file your taxes ASAP, and express mail all of the required tax documents.

I agree with Canadianmade, get your SSN and file ASAP! Once you file, if online or at a tax preparation place you will have the paperwork to show it was submitted.

You shouldn't worry about not signing the papers, I am sure you can't until you show the income paperwork and are completely approved.

Does your RFE say how to submit the paperwork? I am not sure you can get back in that door without an appointment, unless the RFE says otherwise. If they give you the option I would personally take it in by hand, but if it doesn't...I would say mail it in to where it says.

jhun I have a question?..

Is your wife making more money than 2007..

the reason why I'm saying this.. is because my wife was below the poverty line for like 2000 dollars on 2007, then our laywer told us that since shes got a better job, and of course her annual pay is going 45,000 and up.. there was not going to be a problem as long we show proof of it (job letter, pay stubs)

Im just wondering, because my wife didnt make enough for 2007 until now

***ohh i almost forgot, we just did our joint taxes for 2008 yesteday, so I dont know if thats going to be helpful or not during the interview**

Income for 2008 is very vital at this time....I told our interviewer that we brought a original copy of our 2008 income tax return and W-2 but she wanted to see the copy of our return for 2008 that has been filed with IRS. I told her that we're still waiting for my EAD card so that we can apply for my SSN. She didn't ask for my wife's 2 months pay stubs or letter from her employer..

good luck!

I have a question for you guys who already got their interview appointment letters. There's a list of stuff/checklist on the letter saying what you need to take to the interview. Is this list the same for everybody or have they personalized it for each case?

Mine goes like so

1) This interview Notice and your government issued photo ID

2) A completed medical exam....

3) A completed Affidavit......

4) All documentation establishing your eligibility

5) Any immigration related document ever issued

6) All travel documents used to enter the United States

7) Your birth certificate

8) Your petitioner's birth certificate

9) If you have children

10) If your eligibility is based on your marriage...

11) Supporting evidence of your relationship...

12) Original and copy of each...

13) If you have ever been arrested....

14) A certified English translation....

Is everybody else's the same?

Hi guys! Just thought I'd add this with regards to an earlier post in this forum about jobs in the Government. This was the email response I received.

Just in case anyone was looking at jobs in the government.

[size="1]

Good Afternoon,

United States citizenship is required for most Federal positions. If you are not a citizen of the United States, you cannot apply or be considered for most positions in the Federal government through the standard process. However, some agencies can and do hire non-citizens through special hiring procedures. If you are a non-citizen, you would need to contact agencies directly to find out if you are eligible for any positions that they may have, and also to find out how you will need to apply, as the application process would not be through USAJOBS. You can use the agency list at http://www.usa.gov/ to obtain contact information for each agency.

Thank you very much for the reply phoenix. Well, we'll try to get his birth certificate. We've sent our form and check today. If it gets to us in time, we'll take it. If not, then we'll just have the passport. We'll see how it goes. By the way, did they ask for your birth certificate?

Hi,

No the lady who interviewes us never asked for my birth certificate. I had the original and copy, along with a translation (it is in Spanish) but she never asked for it!

I guess working for the USPS is already with slim chances, since they are likely to restrain service to only Monday to Friday and suspend Saturday delivery. We're going to have to look in other areas

One little question guys and gals:

What is the email address that sent your notifications for case status (like the processing of EAD, AP, green card, etc)? I am going crazy looking into the spam folder at each email to see if there is something from USCIS or not. I would rather add it now to my contacts and skip the spam:)
