I was a chauffeur for almost 2 years....I love asking him now to go get beer or something at the store while I sit at home giggling that I dont have to do it all anymore :)

And maybe you are right...maybe I am the anxious one ;) It is taking him an unusally long time for him to finish his resume

LOL I don't know how Benny would do on his resume...haven't even started. I think he doesn't think he really needs to do one since none of the places he worked for speak English and he doesn't want to the jobs he did in Germany.

hey guys...just a thought. I just notice that in my bio appointment that the schedule is only for my I-485. How about my I-765? Will it also be included? Or I will be receiving another appointment for that?

Thanks in advance.

Were they mailed together? If so that may be something to call customer service about to make sure it's applied to both.

Sorry to hear that Mymee. My bio appointment is one letter, mentioning both applications, I485 and I765. However, it seems they have standard forms that they print out customizing your information on it. It could be a simple human error that your I765 is not mentioned on the bio appointment.

Customer service at the 1-800 number will not have the tools to help you with this, because they don't have access to the information on your application, other than the status (info that you can find yourself), that's for privacy of information concerns. They can only place a service request, give you information if you have questions about the forms (in the sense of placing a service request to correct an error, or for instance answer you if it is normal or not to be assigned a new A# on the I-485).

It is worth calling and placing a service request for your I765, but don't expect them solving your issue over the phone. Most probably, you will receive a second bio appointment for the I765, and you will have to go to that second appointment (if the second bio appointment letter is not getting to you before the date scheduled for the first). Bottom line, this is totally stupid. Why should you go for a second appointment for the I765? Your photo and fingerprints are the same, right? Why would they not load your bio for both applications ?? Plus, they have the pictures you sent with the applications, right?

11/17/08 : Application sent (I-130, I-131, I-485, I-765)

11/18/08 : Official receipt of documents stated on I-797C (Signature for receipt at USCIS was on 11/17/2008 at 10PM)

11/28/08 : NOA Received ( I-797C) for all 4 forms (forms issued on 11/26/2008)

12/18/2008: LUD on I-130, I-131, I-765

01/29/2009: Bio done

01/29, 30/2009: LUD on I485 and I765

2/10/2009: issued AP, valid 1 year for multiple entries.

2/23/2009: Got EAD card

3/8/2009: LUD on all applications. Shows approval of I131 and I765, still pending on I130, I485.

04/28/2009 at 9:30 AM: Interview. Told to wait 90 days for a resolution by mail.

05/01/2009: Card production ordered.

05/06/2009: Received approval NOAs for I130 and I485 (welcome notice, 10 years card). I130 still shows case received and pending.

06/18/2009: got the 10 years validity card. Process length: 213 days since sending the applications.

No RFE at all along the process.

Thanks for the positive words guys.

I guess I can clearly see the timeline of EAD/AP's coming up to my name and it just makes me the more anxious. I have been good for the past couple months but I just need to get out there with a job to keep my sanity.

It is great to be able to chat to people who are going through the same situation. I truly do believe nobody understands the pain and waiting on the Immi process unless they have been through it themselves.

Anyhow, goodluck to everyone! Hope you all get approvals this week!

I don't know how USCIS handle our EAD applications...seems that they just picked up whoever files in the shelf without doing them in sequence..... I badly needs my EAD so that I can apply for SSN before my interview. I need SSN to apply for income tax return....do you guys think if we can't provide 2008 income tax return if it asked..are we denied on the spot or they might request us an RFE? It's very frustrating but I can't do anything this time but to be patient and to wait!

"Have faith in God, Jesus answered. I'll tell you the truth. if anyone says to this mountain, Go, throw yourself to the sea, and that does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen. it will be done for him. Therefore I'll tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (MARK 11:22-24)

You can file now (provided your spouse has all W2s/1099s etc already), mailing in your tax return along with the ITIN (individual taxpayer identification number) application. It just takes longer since it's not done electronically. I have to file married but separate for this first year but they still require a number for Benny.

==> Also, your interview is before April 15th so you could just say you haven't filed yet for 2008 so you couldn't provide that tax return.

I'm trying to verify with social security but I think the non US spouse can get a SSN but just have it marked "not valid for employment" by bringing in the passport, visa, and whatever other immigration documents (I would include all notices) received since the visa. After you have the EAD you can get the card changed to the normal one.

We took the risk for not having a co-sponsors...my wife's income for 2007 was not sufficient so we badly afraid that we will be denied due to insufficient income...the only hope that we think that can bring us hope is to file our 2008 income tax return just in case be asked. Without SSN, I cannot file income tax this early Feb....the only option might be to file for ITIN but I was advised that to avoid future problems I need to wait for SSN but this leaves with no choise....i don't know...i'm just desperate this time! Pls enlighten my mind! thanks a lot.

Was her income for 2008 sufficient? She could have her employer write a letter saying how much she made and you can use that for the interview.

Perhaps she was a student in 2007 but not 2008 so she had a jump in income...

We don't know anybody here in USA to ask to become our co-sponsor....when we filed on mid of November we believe that her 2008 income is vital at that time. We sent her pay stubs for last six months, letter from her two employers and we were surprised that USCIS didn't send us an RFE. Meaning, my wife's income for them for 2008 along with other evidence are sufficient to satisfy the USCIS. But here it comes...our interview date...do you think if USCIS in Chicago is satisfied with our evidence reason for not sending as an FRE can possible be the same when it comes to local office where's our interview was scheduled?

hi jhunjhun, i'm sorry to hear that your EAD has not been approved but just continue to be patient. it's a sad reality that USCIS sometimes don't review cases in the order they received them. i had the same frustrations when I was still in the K1 process but what can we do right. i don't think they will deny you on the spot just because you were not able to provide 2008 tax return. maybe you can bring with you your wife's latest pay stubs and employment letter along with your other evidence. you are even luckier than us because you will soon get your greencard unlike us we don't know when are we going to be interviewed and all so just be patient ok. by the way i'm just curious are you also a filipino or just your wife?

i think the paystubs and employment letter are a good idea. That`s what i would do.

We made together in 2008 about 1000 USD, and that`s all me, the non-USC, so we`re WAAAAAAAAY beneath the poverty line. I hope to have a job by the time we interview, cause otherwise we have no income to show... (my husband is graduating in May of this year though)
