may I ask why you contacted the congress already??

If it's because of the EAD let me tell you that you are still under the 90 days limit... it usually takes 70-90 days to get approved...

and i cannot find any other reasons to contact the congress so soon!

the timeframe for the EAD.. is 60 to 90 days since u filed your AOS..

you can go to the working and traveling forum.. and there is a lot of information about it..

usually people that have been waiting for 4+ months for the EAD they contact the congress... not before...

so.. just be patient... no need to contact anybody rite now.. just wait

at last, got my biometrics appointment letter for january 27 just a while ago. The letter is dated January 12. I'm happy now. Maybe I'm just the last november filer to get the bio appointment. :dancing::dancing::dancing:

We're not so much worried about the EAD just the AOS. As an example he needs a SSN so we don't have to wait forever for my tax refund as it would be if we had to mail it in with an ITIN.

08/26/08 - arrival on VWP to meet my boyfriends family for a month

09/29/08 - heartbroken, didn't take flight back

10/26/08 - surprising proposal

10/31/08 - halloween wedding :)

11/07/08 - I-130, I-485, I-765, I-131 sent via USPS express

11/10/08 - package received

11/19/08 - checks cashed

11/25/08 - NOAs received

12/08/08 - RFE received

12/11/08 - Biometrics

12/12/08 - RFE send back

01/09/09 - EAD/AP approved

03/10/09 - interview (pending approval)

03/20/09 - welcome letter

03/31/09 - green card received

Hi everyone.

We sent our paperwork on Nov 10th to Chicago. All three, AOS, AP and EAD have an NOA1 of Nov 20th. We did get an RFE about birth certificate, which we sent back no more than one week after receiving the RFE.

The AP was approved on Jan 15th.

We have not gotten any notice about a Biometrics appointment. Are we missing a step? Are we supposed to call someone to set it up? We have not received anything in the mail telling us to do so. On the NOA it states that they would write about an appointment date, if necessary, later...

So, can the EAD and AOS get approved without a Biometrics appointment?

Are your finger prints on it? This is just a curiosity (on my OPT EAD card it has none)

11/17/08 : Application sent (I-130, I-131, I-485, I-765)

11/18/08 : Official receipt of documents stated on I-797C (Signature for receipt at USCIS was on 11/17/2008 at 10PM)

11/28/08 : NOA Received ( I-797C) for all 4 forms (forms issued on 11/26/2008)

12/18/2008: LUD on I-130, I-131, I-765

01/29/2009: Bio done

01/29, 30/2009: LUD on I485 and I765

2/10/2009: issued AP, valid 1 year for multiple entries.

2/23/2009: Got EAD card

3/8/2009: LUD on all applications. Shows approval of I131 and I765, still pending on I130, I485.

04/28/2009 at 9:30 AM: Interview. Told to wait 90 days for a resolution by mail.

05/01/2009: Card production ordered.

05/06/2009: Received approval NOAs for I130 and I485 (welcome notice, 10 years card). I130 still shows case received and pending.

06/18/2009: got the 10 years validity card. Process length: 213 days since sending the applications.

No RFE at all along the process.
