I have a question SSN wise...So you go through this process and go to the SSA with your EAD and get your SSN, I got that part.

But....when you get your Permanent Residency/Green Card...do you have to go to the SSA for anything else? Does anything change? If we get my husbands EAD at the end of this month and go for our interview a week or 2 later...are we going to need to change anything while he may be in the process of looking for a job? The SSN doesn't change...I know that. I guess I am just being a dork today Second guessing where I shouldn't!

congratulations to everyone! wow, things are moving pretty fast. i'm sure there are more interview letters and EADs approvals to come this week.

i was finally able to add my name to hubbys bank account. the first time HSBC turned us away, stating that they would need my SSN and they couldn't do anything without it. well, we tried again this time and got a different lady. first she said no, but once i explained the situation and stressed that i really need the bank account for my interview, she gave me a special form for people without a SSN (W8 i think it was called?). i brought marriage certificate, my german state ID, my passport and a proof of US adress. just thinking, maybe this helps someone.

That would be me. Since there are more than 30 days since you got your NOAs, and no appointment has been made for your biometrics, I would suggest calling USCIS and asking about your applications that require biometrics (the 765 and the 485) and report that you have not received yet the bio appointment. Just to make sure the letter is not lost in the mail somewhere. They will set up a service request for you and give you a registration number for your service request. Have your NOAs with you, they need the numbers on it.

i'd do that i guess..

i wanted to apologize for upsetting some people here on this board. that was never my intention.. and i wasn't my choice that they gave me my interview appointment before others.. i just really don't want to be attacked because of that, or because i came here on a VW. i don't deserve that.

hi there if you only knew how hard it is to get a K visa then you would understand why some ppl reacted that way but anyway I am happy for you and I wish you all the best.

tourist visa can be used for fraud also but anyway it's useless to argue about this. good luck and God bless everyone. peace

The Philippine government for some time now has outlawed "mail order marriages". In addition, the US I-129F Fiancée Visa Petition carries with it two requirements which prevent a "mail order marriage":

*The couple must have met in person within two years of the visa petition. Photographs of the couple together in front of recognized locations preferably with date stamp are extremely vital.

*The lady fiancée must marry the gentleman within 90 days or return home.

The I-129F Petition for Fiancée Visa is intended for American citizens who legitimately show a genuine relationship and intention to marry with a foreign lady. Penalties under Section §1325© of the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1997 (as amended) for fraud conviction are severe: 5 years imprisonment or $250,000 fine or both.
