abranch: hhhmm..its interesting..and funny you say that the expedite worked...because the same day i received my interview letter, i also received a notice from USCIS that my case was under review because of the expedite..so i dont think it was the expedite, also because the only application my husband expedited for me was the i-765. so maybe it was due in no time..or tucson is on the ball! :thumbs: im thinking your ead will be approved between january 20-27th..thats my guess! but good luck! let me know how it goes...

Did you expedite your process? How did you do this? What are the basis to become eligible in order to expedite the process?

the reason i expedited my i-765 is because my husband was laid off from work..and due to the economic "crisis" we needed an extra income while he was able to get hired for another job...

here is what USCIS uses....

(we fell under financial loss)

but i dont think the expedite helped my case....i think it was due in no time...

USCIS Expedite Criteria

All expedite requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and are granted at the discretion of the Director. The criteria are as follows:

* Severe financial loss to company or individual

* Extreme emergent situation

* Humanitarian situation

* Nonprofit status of requesting organization in furtherance of the cultural and social interests of the United States

* Department of Defense of National Interest Situation (Note: Request must come from official United States Government entity and state that delay will be detrimental to our Government)

* USCIS error

* Compelling interest of USCIS

11.01.2008-Received NOA1 for I-130, I-485, I-765-Dated 10/29/2008.

11.10.2008-Received Biometrics Appointment.

11.11.2008-Touched.

11.18.2008-Biometrics Appointment Completed.

12.24.2008-Card Production Ordered.

12.25.2008-EAD Touch.

12.29.2008-Interview Appointment Dated for February 10, 2008 at 8:00AM.

12.30.2008-Card Production Ordered...AGAIN??.

12.31.2008-EAD Touch.

01.05.2009-EAD Approval Notice Sent.

01.05.2009-EAD Card Received in Mail!!

01.06.2009-Applied for SSN at SSA! easy breezy!!

I didn't realize you expedited. Also, I looked at the dates, but was thinking the wrong months (for when I filed).

Hey All,

Just wondering about something. I'm a dental hygienist and I will need to take some upgrading courses at a college here in order to be able to work as a qualified and legal dental hygienist.

When I receive my EAD does that also allow me to go to school? Or can I legally go to school now? Any help would be great!

I think you`re allowed to go to school as soon as you have your EAD, but you`re only qualified for financial aid once you get your green card.

I`m not sure about it, and you might just ask the school you`re planning on going to...

Shouldn't we get our green card before the new semester (fall) though? I plan on going back to college too.

11-20-2008: AOS (I-485 & I-130) Package sent.

11-24-2008: Package received at 1.36pm and signed by JCHYBA.

12-04-2008: AOS Check was cashed!

12-05-2008: I-130 Money Order was cashed!

12-08-2008: Received my 3 NOA's and letter for biometrics

12-19-2008: Received RFE and another letter for biometrics

12-22-2008: Sent response to RFE back

12-26-2008: Biometrics appointment! -canceled due to holidays-

01-02-2009: Response to RFE received and case is resumed

01-13-2009: Second biometrics appointment - DONE YAY!

01-26-2009: APPROVAL of EAD!!!!!! YAYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

02-04-2009: Received EAD card in mail and applied for SSN - Picked up SSN day after!

02-06-2009: Passed written test, got driver's permit!

03-20-2009: Interview! - RFE

04-14-2009: Brought the requested document to the immigration office.

05-11-2009: Brought the requested document to the immigration office.

05-27-2009: Received green card YAY Thank you God

Yay! They've received my RFE and my case processing has resumed. :-) Hope this doesn't put me way back. Does this restart my timeline? Does anyone know? Or can I still keep track of timings based on when I filed.

OMG!!! I got the 4th appointment for fingerprints!!! Its crazy. They like making me go there every week. <_< They said that my fingerprints are too "mild" :wacko:

7 APR- green card interview -approved

How come your fingersprints taken were "mild"? Are they using the hardcopy fingerprints or they're using the laser one? During the biometric the computer will tell if it's good or not....It's crazy really....to make you go there every week. I'm sorry to hear that. Hope this would be the last fingerprints your going to do....wish you all the best...good luck...Anyways, tell the person who did your fingerprints about the problem....so that he/she will become aware.....
