Questions to all who have already had the Biometrics Appointment. What materials we need to take at that time? (Someone mentioned about the marriage certificate) Do we need to take all the copies of the NOAs? And what's the procedure of the appointment? How long it takes? Any questions on the appointment? Please share your experience with us.

I had my passport and my biometrics appointment letter with me (Probably you ll need a marriage certificate if you change your family name). you'll have to fill out a form (name, address, case receipt numbers, weight in pounds(!)and height in feet(!)

it took 20 min for them to fingerprint and to take a picture of me (no earrings!)

They gave me back my appointment letter with a stamp on it.

OMG!! My husband got his drivers license today!!!!! YAY!!!

THe lawyer was right, with just the Receipt of the I-485 he gets one. Its only a 6 month license, but atleast it gets us through.

:star::dance:

Hello, did they ask your husband to take the written comprehensive exam? Did he ask to do the road test? I was wondering, since we live in the same city, do you think I can get a driver's license as well using my receipt of the I-485? I already asked my sister back in Canada to renew my Saskatchewan DL from 2009 to 2010 and it was Ok. I was wondering, do you think it better for me to apply for AZ DL even it's only allowed for 6 months? Which MVD did you go to?

"Have faith in God, Jesus answered. I'll tell you the truth. if anyone says to this mountain, Go, throw yourself to the sea, and that does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen. it will be done for him. Therefore I'll tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (MARK 11:22-24)

Yes, he was asked to take the written test. He had to take both Road and Written test. He had to because his license expired more than a year ago. If you still have a drivers license I believe you do not have to take a test at all.

We went to the MVD at Ina & Shannon. No questions asked, we handed them the NOA for the I-485 and that was that. The lady took a copy and filled out the form. I was surprised there was nothing said. I am sure you will be able to get a drivers license as well...there is nothing different. Honestly yours will be that much easier since you do have a valid DL now.

I also forgot to mention that my husband's medical was done on June 30th 2008, which is why we only put in a copy of the DS3025.

What I am not 100% clear on is whether the US Embassies in other countries and the doctors they appoint in those countries to do the medical exams are being required to go by the new TB testing rules. If they are, the doctors my husband went to did not give him the skin test.

I'm curious about the same thing! My husband had his medical on 8/8 and they did NOT do a skin test for him. They need to get these new requirements across the board...this is crazy!

Benny said they only did the x-ray to check for TB.

If the test comes back positive they do the xray.

Benny didn't have a skin test.

Cassi & Benny's Important Dates

4/19/07 - Met Online ***** 8/12/08 - K1 Visa Received (191 days between NOA1 & receipt)
11/9/08 - MARRIED *****

4/11/09 - Green Card Received (139 days between NOA1 & receipt)
5/21/11 - 10Y Green Card Received (127 days between NOA1 & receipt)

Yes, the X-ray is to test for TB, it's the most accurate way of diagnosing it. The problem is that USCIS is now saying that you are required to have a skin test FIRST...it saves money (for the doctors) and you don't have an unnecessary x-ray. So now USCIS is looking ONLY for a negative skin test. They look at your file, say "you didn't have a skin test" and consider it incomplete...without considering that K-1/K-3 people already had the damn X-ray, which is more accurate anyway.

See my timeline for my K-1 and AOS/EAD/AP details.
