I'm just a bit nervous, it seems that reading through the past interviews some went very smooth and some have a bit issues, depending on what the mood of the interviewers are I guess. I hope the person who will interview us is going to be an easy going person.

Really happy that this has all happened relatively quickly and that we didn't have to go through an interview at this stage.

Congratulations to those who've had good news recently, and fingers crossed for those still waiting to hear.

:dance::dance::dance:

I guess you can tell by all the dancing. We were approved for the GC today.

It took just about 15 minutes to get that approval stamp. Didn't feel like a grilling at all. Here's how it went....

We had to wait for around half an hour to get called. I think we were early, lots of people seemed to come in right after we did. The waiting area was full by the time we were called. We got an older Asian officer interviewing us. He swore us in and checked our IDs. He went through our documentation to verify our information. He was pretty jovial and asked us few basic questions about where we met and how long we know each other. He joked about how different me and my husband were professionally. Asked me about my job. Then all of a sudden he puts a serious face on and says "Do you know the purpose of this interview?" Then he looks at each of our faces, one by one. "It is to prove that the both of you have entered into this marriage in good faith and have a bonafide relationship." He stares at my husband. Then there's a long silence. Then he says " Can you prove this to me with documents?" At this point, I started in high gear, showing him everything I have from lease, utility bills, bank statements, phone bills, tax return, letters we wrote each other when my husband was deployed.... etc. He was very impressed with all the hand written letters. Then he just says "Ok. I'm satisfied." That kind of didn't register in my head. I had more stuff to show so I was like "Do you want to see pictures? I have a wedding picture album and another general one." He agreed to look at one of them. He quickly glanced through the general one and laughed at a couple of the pictures. Then once again he says "Ok, I will update the system right now and approve you."

I asked him if I could get a stamp in my passport and he said that they stopped doing that and I should receive my card very soon so I shouldn't worry too much.

He then explained about removing conditions and my husband asked him to give us some kind of documentation on how to do that. He happily obliged, stamped my papers with a big APPROVED red stamp and we were out of there just like that.

Now I can rest in peace and not look at all this documentation for another 21 months. Phew!!!

Thanks to map1map, marryme, Mitchamy and our neighbour dave&evan for their good wishes.

Thanks to all of you for all the advice. For those of you preparing for the interview, don't worry too much. Just have all your stuff ready beforehand and be cool in the interview. Just stick to the truth and you should be absolutely fine....
