I have a question about the interview....

On the letter with the interview date, in the checklist of things it says to bring it says the I-693 (unless already submitted)

when we sent our paperwork, we didn't send in an I-693, we sent in a copy of the DS-3025 with a letter stating that the necessary paperwork should have been included in the sealed envelope turned in at POE and that if further evidence was needed, we would send it in.

We never got an RFE for the I-693, so assumed that all the proper paperwork was received.

I shouldn't be getting an interview (case at CSC, came on a K-1) and done exactly the same as you - I included the DS-3025 with a letter regarding the medical. I received an RFE for an I-693 and returned it last week (arrived at CSC today, so hoping the approval won't take too much longer).

If I were you, I would give Dr Arnold in Texas a ring. They'll transcribe your DS-3025 for you for $30. A small price to pay for peace of mind.

Good luck!

- Martin

Is anyone else finding their application isn't getting updated on the online case tracker? They didn't even put my Advance Parole application in the system, and my AOS for Permanent Residency was last updated in January (when received in California), even though I was sent (and returned) an RFE in April!

Hey Guys,

I am new here and I would like to hear what you all think abut my case...

I filled forms for AOS in November 2008 (they got them at National Benefits Center on Nov 20th). Dec 3rd, I got NOA for I-130, I-485, I-765 with my name spelled wrong - three different versions... I fixed it by calling them right away and at the end of the month I received RFE, because I didn't include translated version of my birth certificate and form I-864 - which was my huge mistake. I responded to that on January 4th, but USCIS didn't get anything till January 26th (date when my online status on I-485 was changed to 'Response to request for evidence received, and case processing has resumed', other two cases still with date of Nov 20th).

March 3rd I got Biometrics appointment letter for March 18th, which I completed. On my portfolio on uscis.gov, March 18th is as LUD.

I know that it's been just a month since I completed biometrics, but I am already freaking out and loosing my mind, because I would like to start working (I would never thought I could say something like that). I had infopass appointment yesterday and a women told me to chill out and keep waiting - 'Every case is different, bla bla bla, It might take a year, bla bla bla...'. But she said that on her website, God knows what she was looking at, it was said that 'USCIS' is working right now on the applications from May 15th 2008, so they have to get rid of following months till they get to my case... Then she said she was going to email 'USCIS' and find out what's going on with my work permit.

I bet everyone will advise me to call down and keep waiting, but maybe someone has other ideas...

Thanks!

Hi rafka, I got my EAD a month & 3 weeks after my biometrics, but I had my biometrics 2 months AFTER I sent in my application, mine really took a long time. You really can't rely on other's timelines because USCIS treat each application differently, yes, it's a case to case basis.

You should have your EAD soon. I only got mine after 2 weeks I filed for service request by phone. I know you just had an infopass yesterday, but try to call them and make a service request, that would help. When I made an infopass last March because I was trying to reschedule my interview, I didn't hear anything from them, so I just showed up on my actual date of interview, and asked the interviewer if he got any re-schedule request I made, he said he didn't get any! I'm glad I showed up then. I could have faced a denial with that. So it gave me the impression not to rely on infopass appointments. But my case is different from yours and anyone else.

So, call and make a service request. You'll get yours soon! Cheers

Yes, ours hasn't been updated either. They lost our medical, so we had to pay and re-do it here, sent it in, but no update. Then, we got an RFE last Saturday because they lost the marriage certificate. Nothing has changed online after giving us that medical RFE, even though we have postal confirmation. We went to an Infopass appt. on Tuesday and the officer said not to even bother to check online, it could take up to 2 years to process our I-485, and that USCIS never loses things. She said that people alwys send in random things. I told her that we two-hole punch, use ACCO fasteners, and stamp everything with our information on it...She seriously said these things!

I think that it's normal. We did make one small mistake. I forogt to put in his Mexican bc-just put in the official translated one. That RFE was sent back to Lee's Summit, MO and the next day online it said that processing has resumed. I think that CSC doesn't bother acknowledging RFEs.

I know this may be a stupid question, but I've been wondering...

What should one wear to the interview?

Does it matter or should we wear something smart?

When my husband had his interview for the K-1 in London, he wore dress pants and a button down collared shirt even though his normal way to dress is a black tshirt and jeans with a studded belt and some converse chucks hi-tops
