Pin number required when calling Consulate for information?

Has anyone ever called the Consulate to see if they have mailed packet #4/ letter with appointment date & time to their fiancee? I called today to see if they have done that. My fiancee filed his medical results and the other paper work listed in packet #3 on Oct. 16th and they told him they would call him with the date of his appointment; that was 3 weeks ago. When i called they asked me for a "pin number" and when i didn't have it (fiancee can't find it on receipt) the operator told me to call this number and pay $11 US for the pin number. Didn't sound right to me so i called to see what i would be told there and the man said the same thing. (he sounded like he was washing dishes while talking to me!!) Needless to say i didn't purchase a pin.

Is 3 weeks too long to wait for a letter? Any suggestions? :wacko:

Received Certified Mail Card Back 3.17.09

NOA’s received 3.20.09

AOS Transfer to CSC 4.6.09

Received Work Permit 5.4.09

*NO status updates by email

Received Green Card 6.6.09

No More Paperwork until 2011! =]
