Envelope Error

My fiance received his K-1 visa in the mail today along with the sealed brown envelope that recipients are instructed not to open. Our problem is that on the envelope above his case number his first name is written next to a not just misspelled, but completely wrong last name. It seems like a pretty safe bet that this is going to be a problem once he arrives in the US and I have already e-mailed the embassy about it. But my question is this: Does anyone have any experience with how long it takes to fix these types of problems?

Its something that can be fixed within a day as i heard someone who complained of same too at the embassy where i attended my interview but make no mistake of letting him leave with it as it would be rejected here in the Usa at the point of entry.

I had to make a completely new passport just because there was an observation on my passport and the observation was to add my middle name which was signed and stamped by the issuing officer at same immigration office where it was issued.

I was adviced to get a new one as it might cause problems at the point of entry. Was asked to pay a new visa fee as the one on the old passprt was cancelled, but they eventually didnt collect any money from me as they admitted the fault was theirs and had to work round the clock so i didnt miss my already booked flight!

Excuse the typos if any... and i hope you get it sorted soon enough!
