I didn't realize that McCain and Obama co-sponsored a bill to give amnesty to the illegals, whether there is 12 or 20 million of them. Just heard on the news that a WI based US congressman, didn't catch his name, but a republican, said that McCain denounced this bill during his campaign, but he didn't hear Obama denounce it. Also claimed that democrats are in favor of the amnesty where republicans are not. Wasn't McCain a republican? Can't remember that far back.

Anyway, he is speculating that Obama is going to go ahead with this bill, and if he does, he will do everything in his power to block it. Maybe he also forgot that Bush is the one that brought this issue up, isn't Bush also a republican? Others commented, always others that this is not a key issue, what the hell, illegals have been entering this country for years. This congressman did say that company raids are going on now, that Obama will stop once he is president, again speculation. But if he is really worried, has 76 days to get rid of all 12-20 million of them.

As I recall, Hilary was more lenient on this subject during her debates with Obama, but Obama wanted the illegals to pay a penalty first for being here illegally with restrictions as to how long they have been here, like less than five years, goodbye.

They are here against our laws, and we do have the newly formed DHS to handle this plus the border patrol, can write your congressman to increase the money to these agencies for better enforcement. But seems to be more of a distracting issue than anything else.

And the rhetoric continues... McCain & Obama had virtually identical policies in regard to immigration. In fact most of the major candidates had some sort of path for illegal immigrants to get citizenship. Personally I have mixed feelings on the issue but to suggest Obama was alone in promoting this policy is misleading to say the least.

Certainly can question those numbers.

Another site say CA has the highest number of 2.6 million with a total population of 36 million, one out of every 13 is illegal. Yet another report states that 860,000 are crossing the Mexican /USA border each year. That's about 2,400 per day, think someone would notice that.

Ha, if it's agencies, trying to get a much larger budget, these numbers do seem to be bit exaggerated.
