The only reason I voted for McCain was due to his pick of Palin (who is as conservative a Christian as Steve Harper or Preston Manning) for VP, combined with the fact that a write-in vote of a non-running candidate (I was seriously tempted to write in the name of my favourite entertainer--who, being born in BC, fails the "natural-born US citizen" test).

He isn't even in office yet. Why getting riled up now? Let the man transition and start governing. If you don't like what he does, then fire away with your criticism. At this point, there's nothing to criticize. He is not yet in office and has not yet done a thing as President. Bush was criticized for disastrous actions he took in office and for policies he pushed and pursued as President. He was afforded credit going in, he was afforded credit when 9/11 hit. He gambled all that credit away but he was afforded credit. Extend the new president that same courtesy.

It's interesting what the ancestors of these same illegal immigrants are saying. Every country has offered those illegal immigrants citizenship and it worked.

What is a slap in the face is America not apologizing to the Native Americans for their ancestors coming here illegally and trying to work with all people regardless of skin color.

I don't think giving citizenship to all illegals is the way to go and I seriously doubt our government will be stupid enough not to screen any of them beforehand. I think a start would be to come up with a set of prerequisites and rules and if they are met, they can receive some sort of legallization. Student visas, work visas, asylum, etc. Then, later on those people can see if qualify for permanent residency and later on citizenship.

In my opinion, that would be the best way. Something has to be done and "throwing all the illegals out" will not only work, but hurt our economy in great proportions.
