My President, Your President, OUR President

There are some people who simply can not accept this. For most of my life I've had to live in a country

where the President was not one of my choosing. But I accepted those Presidents, and sometimes I was pleasantly surprised

by their leadership. For some of you this is the first time that you will live in a country where the President is not of your choosing,

and you have a choice to accept it, or as I've been reminded far too often...you have the option to leave.

It's a free country. It's my country, it's your country, it's OUR country.

I can see responding the way you did but no one brought up not accepting the election results on this thread- that's was totally your creation.

Most people accept election results and with the exception of the American Civil War it doesn't lead to blood in the streets. It's a sign of a mature democracy that has seen 43 presidents come and go in peaceful succession. The idea is if your candidate loses better luck next time at the polls not to tell people to shut up or find a another country if can't accept the election results. You can accept losing and still complain about the new president because they aren't mutually exclusive.

Sure people can leave but I haven't heard of any high profile McCain supporters threatening to leave the country if Obama won unlike previous statements from Hollywood types in the last couple of elections.

David, while it may not have been brought up directly, it should be clear that the new "Obama's scary plans" and other such threads

are the pundits way of saying they have not accepted this outcome.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Diamonds are forever but election "mandates" may last long after the election. Obama is still the president and remain so until 2012 and everyone acknowledges those facts. The results of his scary plans are scarier than anything dreamt of in 2008 and he'll have to accept the new reality after tomorrow's election.

I remember a few days before the election, a member drew an Obama trap. It was a Rube Goldberg type, involving watermelon, and fried chicken

was hilarious, the member got suspended.... :wow:

wonder if it would still draw a suspension, prolly not :no:

That was me, and Williams was the moderator that suspended me. Then I wrote him back and said something like "you must have been bullied a lot growing up" and he extended my suspension!

I was impressed with both McCain's concession speech and Obama's acceptance speech.

I was impressed more with reverend Wrights speech.
