Tim Robbins is an ardent Democrat who has been telling the public for months now that, if their right to vote is challenged, people should not cast a provisional ballot.

"Refuse provisional ballots. They're throwing those out," he recently said on Real Time with Bill Maher.

So when he turned up to the polling place he had voted in for the last handful of elections and learned he had been removed from the ballot, Robbins held his ground and demanded the right to vote on an election machine.

Robbins told a CNN reporter, "I went to vote where I normally vote and I was not listed. I asked for an explanation; they had none."

"The poll worker said my name was in the book for the primary two months ago, but missing for the general election," he added.

Robbins was offered a provisional ballot and refused. Then he called his lawyer and talked to a judge.

Five hours later, Robbins was permitted to vote - under a judge's order.

Who the hell is Tim Robbins?

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.

Awesome to see democracy working!

If you have the resources and the connections to get something done.

Actually, I posted a thread last week that gave step-by-step advice on what to do if your name is not on the rolls, including links to lawyers who will help you for free. Nobody wants to have a repeat of 2000.
