How long does Biometrics appointment take?

I've applied for my AoS and I've got my Biometrics appointment next wednesday at 10am.

How long does the appointment take? Do you think I'd have to wait long in the waiting room? What happens when you go in?

My friend needs to know if they need to have some time off work or not. They are driving me there

I think once you are called it is really fast, but the waiting sometimes is not.

Take time for the whole morning would be the best thing I guess.

The wait will depend upon the office running on time. Our experience at Naperville, IL only took about ten minutes. You show the letter to the front desk, answer a few questions, then he/she gives you a form to fill out. After completing the form, retun it to the desk and wait your turn. When you are called back, you will be asked more questions, fingerprinted, and your picture taken. That was it for our experience.

It is better to plan for more time than not enough time.

For most its a matter of minutes but i think it largely depends on the number of people you meet there

So its good to get there early, try searching for people from your state here on Vj who did their biometrics at same place and compare the time they spent there, would give you an idea of how long it ll take.

One time I went it took about an hour between waiting and the actual biometrics. Another time it took almost 3 hours. Be prepared to wait a long time and be pleasantly surprised when you don't.

We waited an hour and a half plus the 10 minutes it took for the actual biometric taking.

I guess it depends..i had my biometrics done yesterday..and it was scheduled for 11am..but i got there at 10:10am and was out by 10:20am..bring your photo identification and your appointment letter..leave cell phones in your car..it was very painless..You put your appointment letter and photo I.D on desk until the call you..they give you a form to fill out..name, social security #, address and stuff like that..then they call for actual fingerprinting, they stamp the appointment letter and keep it for your records, my experience was very smooth.

Just FYI, many offices won't let you into the building until 15 minutes before the scheduled appointment. It depends on the office, methinks.
